Stodgepole rises, offers Betrand his hand. "Thank you for coming, old boy."

"Ain't nothin, mr. Stodgepole, or more accurate like needs doing" He eyes the grump "Wow, you are a late bloomer, aintcha?"

Ronald snorts "Late bloom this, Fetus"

CC looks at Emerson at the insult exchange. He knows Nockers better than she does

He nods; mild stuff, so far.

More like a peck on the cheek between the two of them.

The two eye each other for a bit, Betrand says "Well, right now, you're the fledge, so unless you want to get your keester kicked b ythe cold cold world you might waant to not play thhe naar and listen good"

"Listen WELL, you mayberry refugee" Ronald hurmphs then pauses "Cold, you mean banality?"

"What I said, now your hearing maybe going, but stick with me, Boomer, I'll guide you" Betrand says rolling his eyes, then he looks to Emerson and CC and is nice as posssible "That food for me?" noting the to go "If so that's right nice of you, sir, ma'am"

"For us all, please do dig in." the host implores "I wager the trip, and Roland's adventure, may have raised an appetite?"

"Oh I can eat it at home, sir. I really should get him on his way and start up... less you think it would be insulting to you and the lady otherwise?" Betrtand inquires

"Oh sure, them you kiss up to," Ronald grumbles

Betrand snorts "Apprentice, you really will learn more with your mouth closed."

"APPRENTICE?" The grump sputters

"A boggan has made you food, and offered hospitality, Betrand; what do -you- think you should do?" he asks archly.

Betrand winces "Yes sir." He sits down and says "Thank ye furking kindly , sir. Ma'am" ANd after a moment of silence, eats

Enthusiasticly as the flavor hits his tongue

"Am I gonna lose a finger getting near this kid?" Ronald stage whispers to Emerson as the food goes into the wilder's gob

"This is why I brought two trays."

He too eats.. and while the nockers verbally jab at each other between bites, it goes well.

CC pulls Emerson aside "Boomer vs Gen Z aside, I think it's good Ronald is a grown man, don't you?"

An eyebrow "Why?"

"Because if it was a childling I'd be eying him for adoption, and if it was a wilder I'd try to shove him at you so you'd be his role model. Trust me, this is for the best. I think I have a probem." She 'jests'

He chuckles at her explanation "Oh my, yes. I see. I agree. I think they'll get on well enough and -you- have enough on your plate."

"I do" She concedes and takes his hand "Speaking of which, we have tomorrow off. Want to stayindoors and do ABSOULTELY nothing?"

A wistful sigh "Oh... that sounds like bliss."

"Obviously there will be SOMETHINGS... maybe ..sweeping, or lighth dusting... but, we'll definitely have to cook together." Her eyes sparkle "Other than that, nothing"

"Are you sure you wouldn't rather go out?" dubiously "A ... brunch somewhere, or a spin class or a concert?"

"No, nothing. I want to do nothing , at home, as long as I get to do it with you" She says

Then she smiles "Though I can sign us up for a spin class NEXT week if you like?"

He chuckles "Dearest, I make the usual protest; a spin class on these legs?" he lifts a pudgy, short limb "Paramedics would be involved."

"Next week is brunch then" She winks, "Tomorrow, nothing at home" Then she turns to see the nockers have finished up.

"Powerful good, ma'am, sir. THank you furking kindly" Betrand tips his baseball cap, "Ronald and I'll be vamoosing unlesws you need us to fix something here?"

"I think we're set for now, Betrand, but rest assured I'll be in touch."

"Remember I owe you" Ronald insists, then says "Lead on, Beaver."

"Sure thing, MEthusulah" Betrand says... and the nockers depart

"Shall we try going home again?" wryly.

"YES" She laughs "lets try. ANd... you know, we're still doing NOTHING tomorrow, but the day after? Paint job for your car" She takes his hand, and they go

He grumbles about the car all the way home.

And she adores him and every grumble because it is him.
