"Mmm. Have you told him of the current unfortunate political situation?"

"I already know if someone tells me Trump is Jesus they're insane" Ronald assures

"Ugh, please, don't use THAT name in this club" CC says "ANd no, he means CHANGELING politics, and believe me, Ronald, here the crowns are already here and quite literal"

"Wait, crowns?" Ronald looks at them both "Like.. kings and shit?"

"Mmphm." Stodgepole glowers into his drink.

"Like kings and shit" CC says "I"ll tell you, though Emerson is .. as versed as I am or more so" And she explains, mind you with a Modernist take on how history went down ever since the Moon landing

She is persuasive, and not bad at oratory. By the time she is done, Ronald looks outraged "So ... because some KID with a sword tells the war criminals hold up.. and then says 'what if we don't war crime anymore' to the people who didn't even ask for a king, EVERYONE bends knee to the War Crime Nobles?"

"More or less."

"You've got the crux of it" She admits "Now, there are other versions of the story, other schools of thought. But there's a line about victors writing the histories that very much applies there"

"Gotcha, so if you are all occupied by monarchists, why follow this Escheat?"

"Because the nobles didn't make the Escheat, WE did" She says "it was made when so many of us were abandoned by them in the first place. Necessary to survive." A look to Emerson to see if he wants to chip in on that

"The Escheat is based on old Truths, the deep Magics." he adds somberly "Even the so-called nobility dare not turn from it."

"Though as the night of iron knives shows, some will try" She mmphs "Understand, the two courts have slightly different views.. " She had mentioned the two courts. She does not mention SHadow court (OG edition) views. Not yet. If ever.

"Right, Unseelie sound kind of mean, but the Seelie sound kind of..well, whipped" HE says

A thin smile "We are both, remember. One or the other court may be dominant, but we carry both sides of the coin. Balanced."

"Indeed, think of it as you cchoose which side is face up, but both sides are there"

Ronald nods "Okay.. Not to be rude, but.... you SURE no other people who aren't us can see me like this?"

A plumbed eyebrow lifts, and he glances at Callidora.

"Well, enchanted mortals can, and thats a whole nother kettle of fish, but a kithain has to enchant them. Kiana are mortals who are fae blooded and hold onto enchantment longer. Chimera are pure dream and so I think we covered that" THoughtful "There are rumors of..prodigals. FOrtunately very rare"

Ronald gives a blank look "Prodigal, like the prodigal son?"

"They were kithain once, but drifted too far from the dreaming..sometimes to...disastrous effects" She says, and..gives the basics.

Aftrer THAT it is out, Ronald's eyes are wide "Vampires.. um CHildren of lilith, are real?"

'Sadly, bad news too" She says. THough she has had dealling with them, best to teach a fledge 'just no'

"We survive by hiding." Stodgepole adds "Let mortals, and others, believe we are... fairy tales, if you will. Creatures of myth and legend. We wear our mortal forms as armor, and camouflage. Let them all stay ignorant."

"Hence that right of ignorance" he nods "Okay. I.. get that"

"Good. it's an important one" CC say "Now, Ronald, we'll get you that mentor we spoke of, you MIGHT rest here until he shows up, after that ,we'll work things out" A look to Emerson to see if that is okay with him

He nods. "In fact, I'll call him now?"

"Sounds good, dear."

Ronald rolls with it. he's a grown ass man, a grown ass man in a very odd situation, but at least he's mature enough to be grateful for the help he gets

Stodgepole nods, rises, and goes to make the call from his office.

The call is picked up, "Mister Stodgepole? That your number? " Bertrand's voice can be heard clearly over the landline of the club "Don't tell me that window came loose? I put it in there solid"

"It is, and no, your work is stellar as always. Solid as a rock, thank you."

"Glad to hear it. Well, then this must be about a new commision. Maybe something for Miss CC? "

"Mmm... no. Turns out we found one of your family's elders this evening and he seems a bit lost. Could you come meet him, guide him home to the family?"

"Mr. Stodgepole, my gramps is.. "A pause "OOOO.. a NOTHER family elder just uhm knocking about eh?"

"Exactly so. We're at the Club."

"Given the nature of the situation, sir I think I can drop my current project. I'll be there in about 20 minutes?"

"See you then; just come on in, the backdoor will be open."

William makes it so, and bustles back out to Callidora and Roland. "20 minutes."

"You want to get some food for him to go, or shall I? We probably owe Bertrand that much" CC asks

"Oh heavens, yes. Allow me. You continue your conversation with Mr. Roland." off he goes again, to put together a platter of things he thinks both Roland and Bertrand will enjoy.

And, working alone, he has it done lickety-split.

He returns to Ronald to hear him talking to see CC "Look, I'm not dim. This is a big furking hassle for you guys and you saved my life. No, you made me live, the chance to make costumes ... I owe you both, but espcially you, Miss CC. I.." he sees Emerson and includes him "I owe you both and I don't know if Iwant to be Seelie or not, but I will repay you both. You just call"

"RONALD" CC tuts "We may HIRE you... full time I mean, but first, we get you a mentor and you sort your new world out a bit"
