"I would like to have you shadow the roles here; learn each of them."

"I could do that, if you pick me, sir. Though I understand you might go with Tabitha"

"Oh, I plan for you both to do that, -before- I make a choice."

"oh" He brightens a bit "Well, Clem always says a little friendly competition can bring out the best in folks"

"And so it can."

"Anything else you want me to do or answer now, sir?" He says, eager to please

"I appreciate that but I think I'll complete initial interviews, and then schedule you for some shadows shift which you will, of course, be compensated."

Grover offers his hand , reading that as a clue that THIS interview is either over or at an end, "Thank you, Sir. I appreciate this chance"

"Thank you for coming in. My best to all at the Farm."

"I shall pass it on" ANd he rose up.

And with another nod, bobbed away. To join another DeBuke, one that apparently CC was interviewing today

He samples the drink again.

CC joins him "Hey, how did it go on your end?"

"Mm. Inexperienced, minimally educated. Best to start at the sink station."

"Oh dear. Wonder why Clem thought he'd be a good fit?"

"She's having a bit of fun with us?" dryly, offering the drink.

"I'm not saying no; all candidates will shadow each position and I'll take reports from those that work with them."

"It does occur to me that Clem is not above turning my play around so that she makes sure we upgrade one or two who really needs it"

"Mm." he seems lukewarm about it.

"You haven't asked me how my option 2 went?"

"Oh, Dearest, terribly sorry. My mind is a thousand miles away. Please, take a seat and do tell me?" he pats, inviting.

She sits down, "Well, this one, like yours, is Kinain. She's not as good a singer as Marti, but my she can dance. "

"Are we adding a pole to the stage?" eyebrow.

A laugh "No no... she's good at Tap."

then a light tease, "Why, did you want a pole?"

"We can have quite enough of that sort of thing at home." he conceeds. "Not really the tone we aim for here, hm?"

More throaty chuckles "No, the only Pole here is Teensy and her slavic recipes"

"Perhaps Clem sent us the first set to loosen up, and the second set to tighten up. Hm."

"And let it be up to us which task we wish to take on" She nods "That makes sense. Obviously the shadowing will help you make up your mind"

"They must show some proficiency in each task."

CC agrees, "We're of an accord there."

"Now, where is that letter...." he pats his pocket "Were there any other names on it?"

"I think those were the only ones the DeBukes sent" She says "Which is just as well, we'd get swamped I suspect"

"There are so many of them." a wry murmur.

"And my son made more" Wryly back "Don't worry, darling. I'm sure we'll run into another changeling family with a name like Gusman or Horton or Platz one day. Maybe they'll be more suburban and in the lawn care business?"

A quizical look "Lawn care?"

"I've no idea, I'm just BSing as I go along" She admits

He touches the back of his hand to her forehead. "Would you feel more comfortable at home, Dearest?"

She rolls her eyes "I'm fine, dear. "

"Mm." some worry remains.

"You're flatening my horns" SHe says as his hand is still on her forehad. She might be exagerating

He strokes them gently "They are praise-worthy." with perfect reasonability.

"Not flattering, Flattening... you goof" She kisses his hand , then says "Come on, let's head home as you suggested. I want to wear my ugliest robe and bake brownies."

"Sounds delightful." he rises with her, and leads the way..........
