"I hope to learn a bit about how the world outside Iowa works"

"But why here?"

A small smirk "We are not that far outside Iowa."

"Well, sir, you're family... or at least a friend of. So Chief Clem thought it might be a good way to start IF I were up to your needs"

A nod. "Tell me more about your experience, then."

"Well, sir, the convenience store had a couple of challenges with customers, fellow employees, and the like. One time they had a guy try to sell meth behind it. Whew. Rough crowd"

"I sincerely hope you won't face that here. It would not do."

"Judging by the bouncers I see here, I don't think that's likely" He nods "But don't worry about my safety sir. I may not be trueblood, but I can hold my own in a scrap if I have to"

"I believe it."

"THank you. Uhm, lt me see, other experiences, I helped a lady who was lost. Which may not sound like much but she had two screaming toddlers and I kept her and them calm. Clem says that's worth mentioning"

"We don't get too many screaming toddlers here, but that's not to say we don't see that sort of behavior."

he chuckles a bit at that, "Yeah, not surprised. Still, this place looks classy, bet it's a higher class of Tantrum?"

A hand waggle, so-so gesture "Depends on the number of martinis involved."

"Yes sir. I have served drinks, been studying mixology"

"Well. Why don't you surprise me, then?"

"Oh" He says "Well, I'm not up to the level of a real bartender ,but I.. I could try?"

He rises and heads to the bar, and begins to prepare a drink

He nods, waits, and watches.

The boy seems most comfortable with whiskey and vodka, but he experiments with Lemon...

Then nervously presents it to Emerson

He takes it, sips.

The good news? it does not taste like whiskey and lemon pledge

the bad news? The lemon is over done yet, could use a better stirring (James Bond aside)

He considers this, takes another sip, nods. "It shows promise."

"Of course, mixology is not all we do. Do you have kitchen skills?"

"Some, sir. No hearth, but I do pretty good with sandwiches and meat grilling"
