"That's fine." he allows "Bobbi, do you -want- to quit us? You said Paul was making you quit."

"He .. he .. I'm pregnant. He won't let me go to Kansas to get an abortion"

"And now he wants me to quit this job... it seems like I don't own my own life anymore' She answers timidly

"I don't want to. You and Miss CC pay great and the hours are so perfect for me"

He takes her hand, resting on the table. "Do you want an abortion?" gently.

"YES" SHe says "I thought Paul agreed with me about that, but in the last year or two he's just... I find we don't agree on ANYTHING. I'm scared to break up with him

"Because you think he might become violent?"calmly.

"I know he would, but not with me. He says if i don't value human life, he'll go after a life I DO care about. He said If I got an abortion he'd kill my dog"

"Do you live with him?"

"He lives with me" She says "It's a nice place "

"Mm. Well." Firmly "This simply won't do, not at all. Can you call the police and have them evict him? A temporary measure to be suer but it will give you time to make arrangements."

"Do... do you think the police would take my side?"

"You are the owner." simply "I take it he did not sign a lease?"

"No, he didn't." She says surprised "My great Uncle sold it to me, for a song"

"It's small but you know how prices are now a days"

"There you have it. Have him removed and in the time you create we can figure out next steps." he offers.

"But my dog, the police aren't going to put a watch on a dog"

"Well, no; we'll find a spot for you elsewhere and get your home prepared. Hardened, if you will."

"And perhaps determine if we can't find other matters to occupy Paul's attention and time. Will you take a phone number for our attorney?"

"I.. I can't afford an attorney sir, the house is the only thing of value I have."

He waves this away. "I refuse to allow -that- to stand in the way of retaining a perfectly good server." There's a twinkle in his eye as he says it.

A blush "Thank you, sir. I'll find a way to repay you"

"Take the phone number and call him. Discuss your options in terms of Paul's situation. Mark my words, my dear, it is -Paul's- situation to manage, not yours. -You- will do what you wish. He has no say in that, not any more, not unless you wish it."

"Thank you, " She takes the number "And I will. Uhm about this spot... where I and my dog could stay?"

"I have a real estate contact...." he offers the number "Tell him I sent you. If you wish, you may stay in our office tonight."

"I .. thank you, sir. is this going to be okay with Miss CC?"

"Yes." Utterly certain.

He only hopes she doesn't give into fear

"I do hope you'll keep me informed, my dear? I have resources that can help. And... there is the issue of timeliness."

A smile and he thinks that with a frien'ds help,she might hold on

He checks the time.

He's a bit behind in organziing the crew, and CC goes on in 20 minutes

He will quickly tend to the crew, then.

And once he has a moment, he'll try to learn a bit more about this Paul person. Not from Bobbi, of course. Perhaps the computer would help?

His crew is well trained and whle he makes one or two finishing touches, that's all that's required.

Once they're opened, he retreats to the office.

And he does some research . Paul isn't too hard to find online, one of the others knows the guy's last name... and shares it
