"Oh, no, single" he says , a slight wince at something, but he rallies "Sure, that's nice" It turns out he's a morning person, and hes' delighted to get this shot

"Excellent. I'll set it up."

"Thank you, Sir" He smiles

Stodgepole prepares a tray with Heitz's sliced loaf and fresh-made butter, and gestures. "Come, let's see what the ladies think?" he holds the door so Heitz can carry it out to the auditions.

As they go out, she can see CC looking a bit annoyed. She hides it from others, but HE knows her well. She was promised three potential winners, but it would appear the ffirst one has too much heroine worship, the second..well, he's not sure what was wrong there, and the third one is moving slow and isn't on stage yet

"Dearest, a bite to eat? Heitz has prepared a few samples." he offers as he gets closer.... and takes a closer look.

She turns and gives a smile that could light up a room

And as always, steals his breath away for a moment; he is dazzled.

"Oh, Heitz, is it? I look forward to this" she takes the bread

And tries a sample "mmm... this is quite good. Now Emerson is the expertt but I do dabble in cooking"

"More than just dabble." he confides as he offers samples to the auditioners, observing.

And they try it, everyone quite enjoyingg the food

"Okay, " CC says "this is really good. Makes Olive Garden look pathetic, in fact, I would indeed pay good money for this. However I have tasted better" She glannces at Emerson "Think you could bring out his best?"

"Mmm...." an eyebrow at CC "I think so; I will try at any rate."

"Excellent, because CC needs her sourr dough options" CC winks

Heitz chuckles "Sour Dough a speciality"

"Heitz is joining us for entertainment at the Club tonight. But after that, to work!" he frowns faux-sternly.

"Yes, Sir" Heitz fights a smile

"Hmmph."

And that's when the third singer shows up, late for her try out. A couple of things shhould be noted. She's a pooka, cricket pooka he suspects. She's also clutching at her purse, the strap was torn off

A frown, and a glance at CC. Then he addresses the singer "My dear, is everything quite alright?"

CC has stood up, her annoyance at the late show gone

The pooka gulps, a bit pale, a bruise on her arm "Well, you know show biz, admirers... happy for an autograph if you like it or not"

"Take a seat, my dear...." and he bustles off to get drinks. It might be a bit early for a bourbon but what the hell? He brings glasses and a bottle.

"Jamie, here" CC brings her over to a seat while he gets a drink

Jamie clutces her purse still

"Please, everyone, partake if you wish." he has brought a cold pack as well, and offers it to Callidora to apply to Jamie.

CC helps Jamie, every on gets drinks, and folks ask Jamie ffor details... which doesn't help much with a pooka

So CC says "Give her space, folks."

"Indeed, ladies, ladies.... " he beckons the small crowd away ".... where were you in your process?"

Jamie calms herself, takes a drink and says "i'm just jim dandy, but my purse maybe traumatized" A weak smile, then "Miss CC I'm sorry I'm late."

"I think we'll let it slide, Jamie" CC says

"Ladies?" he calls for their attention "Where were you?" he prompts.

The ladies follow his direction

Jamie says "About a block frrom the amtrack" the amtrack isn't near here. She probably means the bus

((EBG asked the auditioners to attend him and asked where they were in the process of their audition.))

The ladies talk about where they were, looks like it was Jamie's turn when she proved to be late. It takes a bit but he deduces that number one might have heroworship, number 2? Seems to be arrogant. Divas happen, but there's only so much room there

"Well, then, let's let her recover for a time. Ladies, can I offer you further refreshment?"

They thank him, but move on, their appointments over. The first hoping she'll get a call back, the second SURE of it

He will walk them to the door and see them out.

Once they're out, he returns to find CC coming up to him, Jamie in the chair "I want to send Hugh to find this guy, by scent if need be. I want a lesson made about purse snatchers in our area"

"By all means, Dearest, do."

"Good. Jamie's hard to understand so I want to make sure we get the right one," She lowers her voice "Obviously I'll wait a bit to hear her try out. "

He nods and goes to get Hugh.

Hugh is a good boy, and he growls when he finds out about what happened

"Thank you, Hugh. Take care of things."

"On it, boss, folks should know better than to treat a Lady OR a tramp like that" he rolls his sleeves up and heads off. Someone may get bit
