Emerson and CC both have their auditions, so to speak. In Emerson's case, he smells divine bread rising.

And he hears some of the musicians who were temps getting their shot at a regular slot as well

Happily, bread rising is something that happens on its own clock; he steps out to listen to the music, which coincidentally gives him a view of Callidora.

She looks fabulous, but she seems to be intimidating a singer without intending too.

"I just... you're really great I love your show " the kinain woman jabbers

"That's flattering, but I need to hear you sing, honey" CC says

He watches.

And the girl sings, but, she doesn't give a great performance. A shame, she was really good on the tapes. Yes, a boggan can tell the girl can't quite focus while CC herself is there

He pours a drink and wanders over to Callidora's table, setting it down for her. "She's nervous in front of you." He murmurs.

A sip "Ah, that makes sense. Unfortunately I can't vanish everytime she performs"

"True."

"I'll leave you to it, then, Dearest." a kiss on her cheek.

"I think maybe I may have to ease her up a bit.. let her knwo I'm human, relatively" A kiss back "But for now, I need to see the other try outs"

"Yes ma'am." he whispers, and removes himself.

"Save some bread for me if it's really good"

"I will." And he goes to check.

the bread recipe was not a simple one, but the man seems to be adapting icely

Emerson fixes himself a beverages and observes.

The fellow Heitz, works hard and his eyes light up with delight as he does so. He likes what he's doing, and self trained (With grandma's help) he doesn't seem to sufferr from tthe burn out so many chefs and cooks get.

Emerson waits for the proof of the... baking.

And out comes the loaf

"Not my best work" he ponders

Emerson approaches. "What would you have done differently?" He hasn't touched it yet.

"I think I'd have kept the temp just a bit cooler, even if it would have taken longer. Still, should taste good. Just not AS good as I lik

"Would you care to serve me a bit?"

"Delighted" And he does . This is good, very good. Yes, it's a B+ where it was almost an A. Teensy was right that he was better than some folks who were professionals on paper .

He takes a bite, and then another with some butter on the bread.

"Mm. Not bad at all."

"Thanks. "

"And your training was where?" but he takes another bite.

"Self taught during Covid... and my German grandma"

"Mm." he takes another bite "Well done."

"Thannk you, Sir. Teensy tells me there might be a job opening?"

"Oh, I think we're fully staffed."

"Of course....." another bite "If there is a talent ...."

A hopeful look "Well, I know times arre hard but I'd really like a foot in the door"

"Mm. Teensy speaks well of you."

"Very well." with a sigh "A trial."

"thank you, Sir" He smiles "I really enjoy baking"
