"Of course. We'll give him a try. Perhaps we'll get more than bread out of it, hm?"

"Perhaps," She says "I'm glad the cancer threat is over... but there is a bit of pick up"

"How so?" he takes her hand.

"Oh I meann we havve to get back in the swing of things. Let folks know I'm back on stage, ad word offf our small hold is getting out"

"Hmmph. Yes. It is."

"We're going to have to put in some securrity. Should we ask Mountain Emmit for help on wards?"

"I suppose we must." grumbly "It was nice while it lasted....." a sigh.

"However, what if we created the illusion of the hold being full?"

He blinks and considers it. "You mean.... fully populated? At capacity?"

"Effigies and Chicanery might help. Something like a folding table trick. A sidhe comes in ,knowinnng about it- then we show them the 'full room'. Some commoner comes in, and viola, we might have a spot"

He grumbles a little, but nods, agreeing. "Of course, we'll owe Emmitt.

"Mmm yes, but we'rre family nnow. And have a DeBuke on our pay roll"

"True. Hmph."

"If you have another source for wards on that level, i'm all ears." A look at herself "And other things"

"So many delightful things, true." he leers "And no, I do not have another source I fear. You -are- 100% correct; we need stronger protections."

"So I suppose we'll make a deal with Emmitt."

"Oh, he's a wiley one, but we can make a good bargainnn"

"True!" he seems to brighten a bit at the opportunity.

"You want to take lead on this , hun? " She offers. She's confident but if he would enjoy it, why not let him have fun?

"Oh, I think we could work together on it. It would seem... odd if I were to just show up at the Farmhold, after all."

"Oh I was going to invite him here for the talk- home turf and all"

"I shall" She smiles

He lifts her hand and kisses it. "You continue to feel well?"

"Oh you -do- spoil me....." he kisses her hand again "Do you think our friend in need of purse repair is ready to sing for you?"

"She might be" A consideration "I'll ask her"

Sure enough, a few soon, he sees the young lady performig

Jamie sings, very well, but timidly at first

CC likes it well enough to encourage her to sing again

and this time the girl nails it out of the park

He catches Callidora's eye and lifts his own eyebrow.

CC looks triumphant, as if she gets some credit

And Jamie says "I always hated those blusey tunes"

but her eyes indicate diffferently
