"She's not normally Ditzy" He isn't defending, merely commenting, "Something new is eating the Chief. We need to find out. you're a bogggan, don' you.. gossip?"

A sigh that is nearly a huff. "Of course I do. But would you believe my energies are focused on researching cancer treatments, small hairless rodents, and now marine invertebrates??"

"It's amazing you're not drunk" He says sympathetically "Fine. Want me to sic April on Clem? they're blood relations after all"

He -did- have a rather full glass of whiskey....

"If you like. If it will help, certainly. My -point-, dear boy, is that I am relying on you to protect us. Do you understand?"

"I do.. if things go wrong , you want me ready to grab folks get them out of there, or keep Clem focused"

"I want you to protect your mother, no matter what shape or size she is."

Firmly.

"With my life" He says "I'll make sure my wrestlinng annd business schedule is tottally clear that week"

"Whenever we get around to that week occuring." he. mutters.

"Yeah, my agent may hate this. He'll cope"

A deep breath, and William nods. "Alright. Thank you, Caesar." he offers his hand.

He takes it shakes it. I'm scared too"

"Mm. She will make it through this."

"She will." A nod

"Mmph." he's still cranky "I'll need a weed or something from your yard, dear boy."

"Mmm that might be hard, I've actually kept it weed free, Aprril IS still a farm girl, she gets twitchy if I let the yard get sloppy."

"Oh for heaven's sake, a tree branch or something, anything from your yard will do."

"I trimmed those last week" He says a slight smile slipping out "Look, what cannn I say? April doesnn't care who I sleep with, but she insists on a clean yard and garden"

Under his pom-pom touque, he rolls his eyes. "-Anything- from your yard, Caesar, honestly....."

"Well, we have some winter squash. It..reminds her of home. You want some?"

Caesar can see William's mouth struggle to avoid voicing suggestions on what he can do with the squash..... and eventually he says "Yes, please. Thank you."

Dear god, the yard IS immaculate!

And there, a tiny garden complete with a mini glass house. Look, Winter squash!

"Here we go.." He says

Some sotto voce grumbling, but he accepts a cucurbita or two.

that's when April calls out "Caesar, is that you? We have a problem..."

Caesar perks "What's up, honey?"

"the basement has a leak. I worry the cold froze and burst a pipe. It's a slow leak, but it's there!"

"I'd best let you go deal with that....."

Caesar winces, then nods "yeah. " then a nod to Willlaim "thannks"

A nod back, and home he goes.

"So, how did it go ? " CC says putting down her phone

"I have an answer to that squash question." he says in a positive tone as he sets the item in question on the table. "We should be able to start a few plants in spring."

"Oh? "

"Yes indeed." he says happily, and sheds his hat and coat.

"Mmm did we have a squash question? I've been drinking and may have forgot"

He tops up her glass. "Oh, just best practices. Spacing, sun exposure, so on."

"I see. you and Caesar talked gardening then? "

"Growing things, yes."

"Well, April's a tyrant about their gardenn and yard. DeBuke Botonist... double dose"

"So I saw! A force of nature, that one." he gives her a quick kiss. "Are you hungry?"

"tired more than hungry" She returns the kiss

"Well then, let me draw you a bath and tuck you in?"

"I'd like that" She admits rising lazily, and..she stumbles jus a second

He's right there, available for support should she wish it. He sees no stumble, of course.

She leans on him "ooo.. yes, very tired. Make sure I don't fall asleep in the tub?"

"Of course." he murmurs "Do you think you're feeling your medications?"

"It might be" She admits with a frown
