"Yes yes.. I did. She has faith they can keep the climate proper..." She says

"Ah, if Clem is down that might explain the rain and heavy snow going on there now" Caesar says "it's been hugely overcast"

"What about your colony?"

"My oh.. yes, well, I don't think I need a dozen other naked mole rats around me trying to mate" She mmms "Clem says human contact might suffice"

Ooo... the boggan frowns.

"They are highly social creatures, delicate in many ways...."

"Well she had one more idea, but I .. uhm.. it's a bit weirder" CC says

"Weirder than a naked mole rat?" Caesar says

"Star fish.. they could.. mark the problem area... while i'm a woman, then elder form me... cut that marked area out, then let it regrow, and turn me back again."

Now William goes deathly pale.

"Okay, that's weirder" he says

"Look, this may seem alien to us, but Clem is a primal expert. I suspect she might qualify as a sorceress" CC says

"So do you, mom, you just don't advertise it" Caesar says

"Do starfish even have mamary glands?" he croaks.

"NO.. but the material might translate, and translate back, and.. I could be kept in a salt water aquarium" She tries to sound CHIPPER

"Might??" choked -and- strangled.

"Clem been wounded and seen where the breast wound is for her in battle. She thinks she can get the hang of it" CC says "The young woman HAS been in a scrap or two. "

"The HANG of it!??!?!" he does not look well.

"Gotta be #$#$#ing kidding me" Caesar says

"She also will be using SPRING, the magic of renewel" CC says

William takes a BIG drink of whiskey.

"Dearest....." when he can speak (hoarsely) "You realize I do not -object- to the general idea, nor to Naked Mole Rats in particular? It is the preparation and journey that concerns me."

Caesar is taking a swig too

"You two are such babies. Life is an adventure. I'd rather risk it on a big spin" She says

William puts his drink down to have his hands free to cradle his face.

"Has Dear Clem transformed herself into a starfish? Or a naked mole rat, for that matter?" he asks the carpet.

"Yes, to see what it was like. She.. took some steps she would take iwth me"

"That's a blessing, at least." he mumbles.

"Uh huh? I'm not sold" Caesar admits "I'll support, but my liver may suffer for it"

Without looking, William picks up his glass and toasts Ceasar's words, then drinks.

"I have not looked into the needs of a starfish." he states, finally looking up with the air of a martyr "But I will."

"Of course you will" CC sighs "I love you, but boggans are micro managers aren't they?"

"The devil is in the details." primly, as if he weren't a devil himself.

"I WOULD feel better with an extra set of eyes.. err eye, like Wiliam here" Caesar says

CC says "Can we NOT insult the Chieftain who healing me?"

"I did not offer offense!" he protests.

"She may have opinions about being second guessed at every stage is all I'm saying" CC says

"She may have to deal with it" Caesar says testy like

"Hmmph."

"You two are really sounding unfair to her. " CC says "And I'm going to talk to her and see what's eating her up about this mood she's in. "

William takes another drink, a tight sip, and smiles. "Of course. You're a good friend and mentor, Callidora. Just to touch back, though, do we have a -timeline- for things?"

"Well, it was supposed to be this month but I think there's going to be a delay"

"How will that effect you?" seriously.

"We'll have to get ..rechecked... to see if there was growth, so Clem can adjust"

A deep breath, and ne nods. "How are you faring at the doctors? Too cold?"

"I'm handling the banality. I slept with a sexy orderly... "She says "So , same asusual"

He nods without a jot of jealousy "If you think you can manage the wait. It is up to you. I can look for other options....."

"We have otherr options? I thought we got wild with this" She says

"Oh, certainly! Yes, of course. There are, of course, solutions that might exist elsewhere. I could go looking."

"Would it help you to do so? to feel better?" She asks honestly
