"mm well then, that might be the trick. she's suspcious of us, we'll just have to find someone she trusts more and have them keep her busy"

"She's a Royalist now?" disbelieving.

"No dear, but she has royalist friends and if we disrupt Earth Runes she'll be fussy I suspect."

She slides into his lap "I... have it" a thought comes to mind

"But it's dangerous game"

"You certainly -do-." he murmurs as she slides and his arms come around her.

"It seems to me the noble who is most responsible for Adam's down fall isn't part of either Earth Runes OR Rivervale, who was the pompus sainer who handled Adam's naming you ask, or would ask if you were playing along?"

"I will play along and hypothesize that that individual was some servant (with delusions of grandeur) of the Count over EarthRunes. Or the Duchy, even."

"I believe the DUchy, and, of course, as they try to control the art of naming.. the namer was a sidhe" A brow "What do you think, a suitable outlet for justice?"

He tilts his head side to side. "Mm. For me? It would do. Another Sidhe down, one less with their coveted Art. I don't see a direct line between Brenda and Kyle's son, and this elf, but...."

"He's the one who sained Adam before Adam's..incident. The man looked them in the eyes and said it would be well, then it wasn't.. and folks blamed Adam, not the namer who might have screwed up that cantrip"

"Is there evidence the spell failed or was tangled, somehow twisted?"

"No. " A pause "But if we do this right, Brenda and Kyle will believe US won't they?"

"Mm. Certainly."

"So, we tell them that... we'll need the elf's name..... this elf... was incompetent or malicious?"

"Or both?"

"And that he may hurt someone else, some other parents son"

"Mm."

"Oh come on, " She coaxes "We have a legit target"

"They themselves are Sained? The whole family? Done in Rivervale, no doubt, by that Gwydion prig's court?"

"No doubt" she nods "They are sained"

"It could be important to remember; they've been through it themselves, they know what it is like when successful. So how to we say it went wrong?"

"And why?"

"The boy was unusual, as I recall. Kin turned Kith?"

"It's not just that it may have been wrong, it's how the namer absolved himself of ANY Wrong doing. ANd yes, the boy was.. once kinain"

A snap of his fingers (that entirely fails to dust anyone or alter reality in any way). "Arrogance. Overweening hubris."

He kisses her back, then scratches his chin. "I don't suppose there is a way to find out if there are -any- blemishes on his record? Other incidents or issues?"

"Mmm foot work or hoof work and water color talk I'd imagine" SHe says "Boggan gossip at the Duke and Duchess?"

He nods. "I could go there, put my ear to the ground."

"If you like, yes... I want to see what ammunition we can find on this namer.. "
