It appears she's getting gossip from the Wayburtons

William sips his drink, watching her over the newspaper he is reading in his armchair at home.

"I imagine that they're all over it. oh well yes, the Cenntaurs come first"

An eyebrow.

"Marsha you KNOW you've always got me to lean on, dear"

"Uh huh"

"Yes yes, off you go"

And she hangs up and looks over "I swear she's a gold mine of intel"

"And you, a gold digger." he agrees.

A mock gasp of Hurt "How DARE you say that, wealthy older man who helped pay for my club and has bought me more dresses than I can count? "

He smirks at her. "I consider all that an investment in my personal pleasure."

"Mm well, some of the unmentionables ARE fun to mention, and model" She sits down on the arm of his chair "Apparently there was some slaugh arranging for abductions of every centaur he could.. Three holds, one we know very well, worked toggether... possibly four thouggh the DeBukes were more back up"

"Mmm." sullen "I'm torn between frustration at that one noble freehold and pleasure that so many common freeholds worked together. Imagine what they could do if......."

"If they came to their senses?" She nods

A wistful sigh. "Yes."

"So. Kidnapped centaur? Deep pockets there."

He pauses, considering. "Deeper than I'd have cared to venture at my ... at my most."

"Centaurs, plural, he was trying for all of them. And..." A breath "Golorian Leech. You may have heard of him?"

William sets down his paper AND his drink, turning to her. "What was that name?"

"Glorian Leech, he was .. he was known to work with the SHadow Court"

William nods. "Yes. He was. Is? Well, if he's in the hands of Rivervale then it's -was-." grimly "What else were you going to say?"

" I never met him, but i worked on his behalf once," A frown "I hope he doesn't know that"

He takes her hand gently. "Tell me?"

"He was looking for a dragon scale said to fall off an ancient wyrm. I managed to finese it out of a noble's hands"

"Why did he want it?"

"Something about insurance "

"Mmm. What was the scale supposed to do?"

"Ressurection"

"Crap." he says succinctly.

"I see."

"Yes. odd yes?"

"No. No, I can see uses for that. Many."

"We weren't sure if it would really work"

"We being you and he, or you and....?"

"Oh, the team I was with. Shadow Court hasi t's little groups"

William nods, understanding.

"What do you wish to do, now?"

"Not sure...frankly, I.. worry it's going to anger you if I tell you some details beyond what I told you"

He stands, keeping her hand. "It may anger me, but I will not abandon you, or this, or us. Tell me."

"Of course not" She sighs "As you know, when David vanished, ... the former Duchy that was connecituct had a mini revolt.. the commoners establish a republic. One that has yet to be formerly recognized. Stiill no nobles. Guess where Leech was based when he got seized by various nobles?"

"Mmph. Connectiuct."

CC frowns "You know what else annoys me?"

"Do tell."

"I's the fact that that Leech is a fucking millionaire with treasures and secrets galore" A sigh "Even shadow court secrets"

"Should we cash in some tokens, then, Dearest?"

"Someone else is already on it, gathering the lore.." A frown "And, yes, probably nobles too"

"Mm."

"Let me ask again... what do you wish to do?"

"I'm not sure. I smell opportunity, just not sure it's OUR opportunnity"
