"Just, well, we got to talking," Alad confesses, "And she thtinks sowing chaos among the nobles just means the decent nobles are distracted and the bastards use that same chaos to do rotten things against commoners. "

"Right!" he smiles "Well, it sounds as though you've enjoyed your time and I have no doubt you're welcome back when your path takes you there next. I do wish you good fortune."

"Thanks, sir, and thanks for .. thanks for letting me know about her. Amazing woman" He says with star struck eyes and finishes his drink then smiles and kisses CC's hand "Almost as amazing as CC"

"Oh, do go on" CC purs, then says "I mean, on your way. we don' want to keep you"

"Almost." he agrees.

Alad smiles , sweeps and bows, "May your journeys be fruitful" And out he goes.

CC immediately pours her love kracken a drink

She returns to find him sitting in his chair where she left him, arms crossed, brow furrowed, grumbling.

"Okay, that fair fortune did NOT go how we wanted" she says

He sighs, taking the drink. "Da'an."

"I hope she didn't 'convert' the others. We sent like three after her," A sigh "Didn't know she'd gotten Seelie again. That might explain why the plann backfired"

"Hmph."

"I should have known it was too good to last." a bit mournfully.

Gentle but strong fingers massage his shoulders "I know, but you wouldn't have kicked yourself if you hadn't TRIED."

"Yes. I suppose so." he agrees.

"Good news, those books you helped muse are a hit on the farm. The younger wilders are eating up that fantasy novel where the peasants hang the king at the end"

That makes him brighten up a bit. "They are?" he doesn't exactly spend a great deal of time at the Farm; the club takes up a lot of hours.

"Yeah, you should see em.. they were FURIOUS at the royalty in that book... "A pause "Apparently the young farmer's son who swears revenge is 'really hot'' She says amused "Glad that's still slang. I actually am up on that"

"He based that character on a suggestion of mine." just a bit of pride, there.

"Really?" A curious look "Emerson lover, you didn't have the younger De Buke generation in MIND with that did you? I meann, farm boy turned rebel has been done but for them it never gets old.. did you.." Intrigued, and.. yes a bit impressed but doubtful "You can't have mused THAT far ahead?"

"I regret to admit, no; I did not. Not the DeBuke specifically."

"Well, in that case, a bit of luck worked YOUR way" A blush "Apparently there's also a spy in the king's ranks who has sided with the common folk in that book. Would you believe he's the chief server inn the king's household?"

William looks innocently heavenwards.

He sets the drink aside and encourages her to seat herself on his lap.

And she does

"Well. I'm glad that little venture seems to be working out. And the book tour is launching soon."

"With your guidance too. Don't think I haven't noticed "A kiss "That a lot of connections seem to be popping out of the wood work to help him make a big splash. You devious fixer you"

She's trying to take his mind off Alad becomingg a love smitten idiot, but she is also sincerely impressed.

"The money didn't hurt things." wryly.

"Never does, isn't THAT odd" A smile

A small chuckle.

"I love you" Snuggle

"Ah, now that doesn't hurt either." he kisses her cheek "I love you, too."

"Restaurannts are opening up in earnest. I know we have our own but ... want to go out tonight?"

"Yes, let's." he agrees immediately "Here in Kansas City or elsewhere?"

"oo .. huh, your choice. Tell you what, you pick the place, and I will wear that little emerald dress"

"Oo...." his eye lights up "Key word being 'little.'"

"Yes, my thighs are spreading so relatively speaking..."

"Well, in that case, perhaps we shouldn't go out at all. I can't have your thighs spreading in public. You'd cause a riot."

A laugh breaks out "We'll take the chance"

He laughs with her. "You really -do- love me, to serve such easy pitches."

"Let's leave my impressive personal attributes out of this for the time being." he suggests modestly and irreverently.

Another laugh, annd a nother kiss "Pick a place. I'm showering and fitting into a dress"
