CC hums happily.

She is at the house, not the club, but she hums happily anyway. It's not her domestic bliss hum either. She's feeling pleased with herself

William lays on the couch in his stocking feet, reading the newspaper.

Smells coming from the kitchen, nothing fancy, a chicken dish, veggies and steam adding to the flavor

The boggan inhales appreciatively. "Smells marvelous, Dearest."

"Thank you, honey," She then says "Guess what I got to do?"

"What is that?"

Page turn.

"I got Kitten to pry into an Eiluned's affairs. I think by now it's safe to say the book the Eiluned wanted is denied her"

A crinkle of paper as he lowers it. "You did? She came through it well?"

"I believe she's now at the Farm so I can't scry her, but last checked" She says

"Mmmm. Well done, Dearest." genuinely.

"Speaking of the Farm, have you spoke with the mothers recently?"

"Oh yes" She says "April , of course, is quite a big part of Caesar's life. I think she's going to become someone he can lean on, and not just a mother of his child or children" VERY Pleased, "May, well, May my love definitely your creature now, but hardly a puppet... I think you may have more contact with her than I. And June? Oh well, June is very DeBuke" A sigh "Visited her, she seems to find me someone to endure. They're all coming along nicely, each feeling very self concious about their sizes "

"Two out of three isn't bad, Dearest. And who knows, perhaps we can visit June on Samhain." A wicked twinkle.

"Oh I think we should" Pleased "I suspect that redhad is still a bit embarrassed about going wild with Caesar the first time. Trolls. Don't they realize the more they think they're 'above it all' the more we enjoy proving them wrong?"

"I do enjoy tempting them." He admits.

"Well, if they wouldn't lay it down like a gauntlet," A sigh "But every kith has their vices. My kith has all of them" A wink as she peeks out the kitchen "You want rolls with this?"

"With your seasoning?" Hopeful.

"Oh, putting me to work eh?" but her eyes twinkle "I suppose I can take the extra minute it requires to throw that old thing in."

He sets the paper down with a rustle and pads into the kitchen. "Can I be of assistance?"

"Oh now, I didn't want to make you move, you looked so comfy" She says with a kiss on his lips

He returns the kiss. "You move me, Dearest, regardless."

"Mm well, if you want, I hadn't decided on dessert" She smiles and admits "And I DO love cooking with you"

"Well, let's see what we have on hand. What are you in the mood for?" He opens the cabinets, peering at the pantry.

"I don't know," she admits "You know me, chocolate is almost always a winner, but with this being winter...something festive?"

"Mmmm...." He rummages, thinking.

"Do we still have that bottle of rum?"

"Spiced rum" She gestures to the spot "Ran out of the regular"

"Hm. Something... festive....." He pulls a few ingredients out and lines them up, his own little patrol organized.

"What about a spice cake, then, with a cream cheese icing?"

"And chocolate shavings."

"I'm going to have to joooog tomorrow" She sing songs

Thats a yes though

He chuckles and starts knocking the cake together.

meanwhile, she seasons the rolls just the way he loves

"I hope you don't mind me thwarting an Eiluned without you, even vicariously, you were out of town.. .how did the conference go by the way?"

"Oh, well enough. A small affair but we were at least able to connect new writers with each other, encourage them."

"I know this virtual networking seems to work well enough, but there's something to be said for eyes-on."

"Agreed, you can't pick up tone or facial expressions.. or so many other things." She says "I'm not a boggan and even I can tell that"

The main course comes out perfectly done, then she smiles "LEt me guess, lots of 'down with the power' storylines?"

"A satisfying number, yes." He pours the batter into cake pans, and sets up the mixer to beat the icing.

"You're a natural muse" proud

He scoffs.

By now the two have learned how to dance around each other, clearing one area to free it for the other's plans when needed, "You think I joke? Your passion infuses those writers. I've seen it."

"They had the passion before me. A little... guidance..... direction..... That's all."

"That's all, he says, as if it were so easy for most" Her turn to scoff, "You inspire them. Help the reach their core and bring it up."

"Perhaps." He eyes her. "You do fairly well yourself, you know."

"I do enjoy those times our strengths can work together."

He slips the pans into the oven and starts on the frosting. "Your meal can rest for a few moments?"
