On the frrige is a very old drawing still on a magnet. Caesar's crude attempt when very young no doubt, somehow having survived their many moves.

"She is a sentimental soul." He agrees. "Caesar bought the house for her, you know."

"Yes. He said it was the least he could do after how she gave up so much for him, she's an amazing woman..." THoughtful then a blush "But obivously you're aware"

"I am." He pours them lemonade. "May I ask a personal question?"

"By all means" She says

"What are your plans for Halloween?"

"Oh.." A blush "Well, for a long time the DeBukes just holed up on Samhain. All of us. Kinain often went without enchantment to help better resist the pull... then, later... some of us experimented with our Unseelie side... so now most DeBukes hole up ,but a few go out to raise trouble... me? I was thinking of a nice book"

He nods. "Allow me to offer my hotel room, if you have need of a place. You understand Caesar is likely to... observe the holiday in a traditional fashion?"

"I have not spoken with him but....."

A blush "I don't think even Unseelie Caesar would ah.. hurt me or the baby. I admit I was curious what he's like. I asked him. He called it his 'asshole phase'"

Emerson nods. "I would concur. With both of you." A twinkle.

She smiles "I know he'l... probably be seeing a lot of women"

"He is a satyr." Gently. "You know what that means?"

"Yes, that... uhm.. sex and love are not the same for him. " April says "I Know that up .. here" She taps her forehead

He nods. "Among other things, yes. You are not the first to struggle with it, either. "

"I suppose not..m ay I ask YOU a personal question?"

"You may -ask-...."

"How did you get used to.. your relationship? With CC I mean?" A blush

He chuckles as they sit at the kitchen table. "My dear, I am not at all certain that I -am- used to it." He sips the tart drink. "I have an advantage you do not. It is in my nature to facilitate for those in need. To provide assistance. We all need what we need. Satyrs need that freedom to explore their passions. To my eyes..... how could I deny or blame her? I want her to be happy and healthy and .... that it what's needed. Thus, we are both true to our natures."

"That must be nice, I mean, to have those instincts and..." she blushes "Am I being insulting?":

Another chuckle. "Not at all. It's... nice to be understood."

He squeezes her hand briefly.

She smiles "It is. I ... I think I care a lot more for Caesar than I should. A LOT. He's.. tall.. kind... good looking...with a sense of humor and a kind of modesty I like... but still very sure of himself. I just.. have to remind myself I'm the ..pardon A mother of his child.. and not anything more to him."

"I am not... cannot... will never be... in your place. But you have family. Your family of origin........ and this small one. Supporting you, as you wish."

"Yes. I'm blessed. Thank you" she says

"Miss April.... I hope we might correspond, no matter what?"

"I'd be happy to," She assures "And not just for the wonderful meals at nice places."

"Miss April......." He pats his stomach and girth. " It is hardly a hardship!"

"I'll be matching and then exceeding you soon" she touches her own mid section

He laughs softly. "A competition? You will win....."

"Afraid so" She smiles "But it beats some alternatives. CC tells me she has some tips for taking off the baby weight after ... the familiy's advice? Hard work" A roll of her eyes.

"Miss CC is... a wealth of information." He agrees.

"She is... I mean, she seems to have traveled almost everywhere, seen so much light and dark... and is SO classy. ANd I think ..sometimes I think she's not telling me even a fraction of a fraction of the things she knows. Maybe for my own good. Is..is that paranoid?"

"Not clinically, no."

That makes her laugh "now the specificness of that answer is vaguely disturbing"

He just smiles.

"Well, this place looks clean as a whistle. Think she'll like?"

"I do. Allow me to escort you home."

"Thank you" She says and does so. He's learning more about April. It is clear to him increasingly that she is either in love wtih Caesar, or in love with the idea of being in love with him.
