"Oh.... your cantrip did marvelously well, Dearest." A quick kiss.

"Uh huh, I didn't cantrip the smug look though" A kiss back "Went that well?"

"You'll never believe who was there."

"The pope!" a clap of hands

A bark of laughter. "Close! Our friend from New Jersey."

"Our friend from.." Her eyes widen "See, I almost believe the pope more easily... " She pulls him a bit further away from crowds "By friend, do you mean Brekke 'I'd smile but my face would shatter from years of self repression' King?"

"I do indeed." He takes her aside to their office. Once the door is shut.... "... and guess what she did?"

CC only barely remembers to give the signals for the others to keep things running without them, she's so interested. When they get to the office, "Did she drag her axe and create a new canyon pass through the smokies? Perhaps glare down a bear or three? Did she chop a tree down with a herring or something else typically legendary?"

"She fought the Daireanne and managed to win, somehow?" Smirking.

""Wait, was this with or without your drug in said Daireann's system?"

"With, but still. She did.... fine."

"Knowing your drugs, I'm surprised the Daireann didn't die in the first round"

Not a chastisement, indeed, she chuckles

"Well, I will say that my efforts were not at full efficacy; the Baroness's appearance was unforeseen."

"They didn't have time to sink in. I am..amused. Wait, did you also put in the half compound?"

A smug smile.

"I strive to be thorough."

"Oh my word" She laughs "Brekke would be livid, rip roaring LIVID, if she thought even for a moment that because of some drug you put in there, that her foe might not have been at the top of her game, that the duel might be even a little dishonorable"

The boggan....actually... giggles, although he does look surprised by it.

CC just lets the belly chuckles bubble out and hugs him, "And it's possible it did, though from your indication unlikely. But just the thought that you 'fixed' a match for Brekke without her aware of it..."

"Oh, you -are- good for me. I shall be quite sated for a while."

"Oh baby, I'm just glad you didn't slip anything into the Chieftains' drink.. "Then she stops, "You didn't, right?"

"I did not." Primly.

"Sorry, babe, you know why I had to ask" SHe says then goes back to chuckling "Oh this whole thing is too precious. Okay, now give me the details of this whole throwdown and the aftermath"

And he does.

".... and having destroyed the Sidhe and arrived at an understanding with the horse, they left following dinner. Presumably to return to Rivervale."

"Oh that's... this is too rich" CC says "I don't supposed you recorded this with a cellphone? "

"I didn't like to draw attention." Another smirk. "I did serve at table, though."

"Well, no wonder you came in looking so pleased with yourself" She kisses his ear tip, "And well earned. YOu're amazing. Talk about going into the tiger's mouth"

"Bah. I've done more in worse. It was fun, though. All is well, here?"

"Yes, I just had the pleasure of watching Zara seduce Earl.. or getting him to seduce her, depending how you see it. " She looks VERY proud "They've both grown so much"

A chuckle. "I suspect it was mutual."

"The best ones are dear."

"And she is well, otherwise?"

"Actually, she seems to be in a good place. Now that Paler is dead anyway. She graduated and had a prom.... it should be interesting to see the crucible that has burned at her and see what it has wrought"

"I have an odd pride in her. Well, perhaps not odd. I have helped others along the way."

"Me too," CC says "I think Kitten is now officially a cat, albeit a young one. She's had to use her claws."

"Blooded." With some satisfaction.

"Yes, and that will trouble her... soemtimes I wish I could assure her that her part in her father's down fall was just, and what a blessing it is to have blood on your hands for just reasons rather than... less rightful ones. But she'd take it wrong"

"I think she will come to that realization in time." Comforting.

She snuggles with her man "Yes, well, TIme heals all wounds and wounds all heels"

"Then I am doomed."

"Whose to say I'm not your wound?" finger poke

"A sore spot, perhaps." Teasing.

A throaty chuckle.

"Well then.... what needs to be done, hm?"

"Well, we've helped a lot of refugees... or rather you did mostly" A nose wrinkle "I'll be helping you pay off the favors that you owe now. But if you mean here? As a matter of fact, one of our chefs is down with a summer flu"

"I can certainly help in the kitchen, but what is this about you paying favors?"

"If you owe some favors for the help you got getting the refugees out, then II owe favors"

She gets a sour look. "This again."
