August's eyes are watching Coradel, but he stands awkwardly, unsure.

"You know, I've not fought trolls often. A few here will sometimes be part of my training, but never in competition."

She reaches for Earl's hand, giving it a little squeeze.

OOC: Need to hit the pause button for the night, Mr. D?

"I'm not a typical troll" A squeeze

"Thank you, Zara." He k isses her cheek.

BIC: August finds folks who wouldn't normally give him the time of day saying hi, or asking him where he got that outfit? Did a particular bogan work on it? So on.

The jousters who lost each come in turn to shake Coradel's hand briefly and most move on quietly.

Coradel watches this, pleased that others see what he sees in him when he's at his best.

When the other jousters come to speak with her, she takes each aside briefly to speak with them. ((PMs forthcoming, ST...but carry on))

Since....ah, no, no one did...Alabaster Hollow gets credit and traffic.

The Archery contest begins, and many more commoners participate in that one. As neither Claire, Magnus, Coradel, Earl August or Zara are partaking, they have even more time to enjoy. The best three appear to be Farith the Eshu, Maximar Strongbow a Troll! And Leonora Dame of Fiona!

Leonora does get some very nearly silent cheering!

Coradel briefly considers making a last-minute entry into the archery...but decides against it.

Leonora waves to the crowd, enjoying the attention, but she also seems to have no problem mingling with the commoners just because. It's obvious she was probably meant to be a knight to those who realize she's happier being a 'working noble'. Maximar is the strong silent type, but a few ladies sigh as he tends to shoot bare chested . Farith boasts! But... as the contests whittles, the Eshu must drop out, and then, between Maximar and Leonoara? Leonora wins!

Leonora cheers. And accepts her prize graciously. A magic arrow that can work once, and only once, to turn a foe to stone. And a bag of cash. The later she takes out and says "Drinks are on me!"

Coradel applauds Leonora, and then laughs happily as she offers the drinks!

And for a moment, August is not the most popular sidhe. But only by a little :

Shallimar, skunk Pooka and jester bounds by, "Ah, so many fish. Which ones will be let go I wonder?"

Zara can hear whispering among the nobles. The knights who shine here and are 'errant' are very likely to be offered a spot here. And yes Leonora has caught attention. Some eye Dame Claire. In fact, Zara realizes the Baron of the hold himself is whispering and pointing softly to some contestestants who did well even if they did not win.

"Fish, Shallimar?" Coradel is amused.

"oh yes, " Shallimar says knowingly "Do you not see it? Lines of gold and flame cast down into the talent stream."

Coradel frowns and looks about the crowd...and tries to look at it as Ella might have. And she may get a hint of the strategies, the angling for position, the winners and losers outside of the actual competitions.

That comes easier to her, she is a sidhe, a creature of politics and... yes, these aren't just warriors, they're resources. And the Baron would be a foold not to see them as so.

She has, in fact, been doing a bit of the same on her own.

Then the calls goes out, "The grand melee, in open field!" Gasps from the crowd. Many of delight! Mostly what this means is... you throw ALL the warriors into the field, and see who is standing at the end of it. Everyone against everyone else. is it a time saver? or just to give the commoners a show even as it makes the warriors on foot feel less than the warriors on steed? Or perhaps it's just typical of Eiluned priority over sorcery over sword.

Zara - bold! - gives Earl a good-luck kiss when everyone is distracted by the call to assemble.

A deep breath, and Coradel gives the Prince of Charm and Grace a lingering kiss before she rises to move to the field. Honoria has brought her helm and armor additions to the edge of the field.

Earl was looking doubtful, but then he gets one planted on him grins goofily and suddenly feels like he could take on an army! He touches her favor, then he goes down into the field, brandishes his blade and calls out "Go Mets!"

Magnus is planting one on Claire and vice versa, "Knock em dead." Magnus says //"Protocal keeps killing blows from landing... so not that kind of party" The Ailil grins and moves out down as well.
