Beltaine is going fine... Dio helped Sparrow pick out this absolutely amazing backless dress where her wings can stretch annd move. Guests have arrived, some from other holds!

Including an adorable troll childling girl she has never met before, but hails from the Dark gate area, and has delivered a message from .. Sir Colton, well, a letter of affection really

"It behooves me to inform you," She says reading the scroll, "that sir colton, storm of Dark gate fortress, sends this message and messenger, " A side note "that's ME by the way, to spread a well wish for a very joyful Beltaine! May the Summer be kind, may the sun gentle its kiss.. " She reads carefully "Awful cheeky of the sun there... oh that's not actually written that was me too.. and..'may the baroness of Brightwinds know that her former squire thinks of her with great pride'"

Sparrow smiles. "Hopefully, the messenger may stay for some food and games? The childlings will be dancing a maypole, and there are horseshoes and cornhole and volleyball..."

"I have been told fun is mandatory" She stands straight at attention "I am under official orders to enjoy myself." then curiously "there's horseshoes? Neat. I.." a cough "Ready to serve"

"Well, who am I to countermand Colton's orders? Go, have fun. Do not stick your fingers directly in the chocolate fountain, please use the provided skewers."

"Yes, Baroness" And a bow, and off she goes, Pig tails bouncing

Ashlee, some might notice, avoids the 'pretty' girl troll. Suddenly her beltaine dress, while very puffy and fun, doesnn't seem adequete protection, for her face is still bare.

"Ashleeeeeeeee, come play!" Irene doesn't care. The troll is her friend.

Grete calls as well, "You gotta try this!" Licking chocolate off a hand that was stuck into the fountain...

Ashlee is coaxed.

And comes out cautiously "Hello" she says to the new girl "I'm Ashlee"

The new girl sighs, and for a moment Ashlee is sure this pretty troll doesn't want to talk to an ugly ugly girl like her. But then the new girl with effort says "it's very nice to meet you. I'm Page Ulga" a cautious look, as if expecting someone to say somethinng about the name. Clearly she's on guard about it

"I'm Grete, and this is Irene, and over there is Stu.... try the chocolate. It's best on the marshmallows..."

Ashlee smiles, an ugly smile, but she relaxes And tries some "They're right, it's good. "

Ulga says "well, I am obligged to enjoy myself." She tries some "Oh it IS good"

Not always the most perceptive, Grete comments, "Ulga... that's a weird name. Is that a troll name? Sometimes Trolls have names like that. Ulf and Snorf and Thor and stuff. Are you Norse.. norsic?" Trying to remember her lessons, now that they have started back up after the time of Harkson.

Ulga stiffens and pauses her enjoyment "It's a very unnpleasant sounding name, but it's what I have."

Grete is running another marshmallow through the chocolate. "It's not unpleasant, it's just different. Now, my mama calls me "Marguerite". An overly French accent applied to the name, and her nose wrinkles up with distaste. "THAT's unpleasant. I like short names, names that mean something. I think marguerites are flowers, and I ain't no flower. But Grete sounds like grit, and I like that."

"I think Ulga is a nice name. It's like Otha's."

Ulga says "Well, I think it's ugly, but your'e all very nice. Want to play horse shoes?"

"Sure!"

Ashlee says "Sure!" she hannds out napkins "Watch out for Irene. She's got ggreat hands.. if she can get the oomph she doesn't miss much"

"It's fun! You just have to make sure you're using the old horse-shoes, and not the new ones that are for the centaurs. Did you know we have centaurs? Brightwinds is the ONLY hold with a family of centaurs." Proud.

"You guys have centaurs?" Ulga gasps "No. I'm kind of Jelly!"

"We have jelly, too. Hope makes three kinds! And the new sluagh at the food truck has some made out of cactus."

"I meant jealous... but that's good too" Ulga says "okay ,who goes first?" The horse shoes still on her mind. She seems to love the game

"Rock paper scissors?"

And they do.

Grete will find Ulga is a woman of culture, for she too picks ROCK

Scissors, but Irene takes losing with a grin.

Ashlee went with Paper

"Hmm.."

"I think it's going to be Ashlee, Ulga, Grete, then me. It's math."

Stu nods "Math is math" Making fingger pointing down gestures. He's not playing horse shoes, he just likes his own voice sometimes and also wants to help

And the kids have a rousing game!

Meanwhile, Sparrow finds that she's being praised for something she didn't do, though she did decide on it.

"The food's amazing, Baronness" One visiting noble says

"Delightful," A female Eshu says "I thought just went with whatever cuisine was associated with their house, and frankly, the British Isles don't offer much and I get tired of French constantly "But this surprised me!"

No one expected the meal to be so different yet still delicious

"Our caterer is very talented, yes. If you want, I'll see if he has a card? You might see his food truck around the area, also..."

She notes one obese satyr man, dressed in fine ruffs, who seems to be rather .. prigggish. he has walked about, eyed the festitivies with a sort of bored expression, seen the hold and muttered "quaint"

he's clearly a noble, a minor one, and polite enough in the protocals but seems to be taking a critical eye of everything here

And, the food... well, when he samples, he makes a difficult order and sends it in

the Baroness can only watch as Clarence goes in, comes out, informs the guest how long i will take, and then goes back again after 'very well'

The Baroness floats and glides, ever elegant - keeping an eye on the satyr without obviously doing so.

He might hold a title, but she is nobility and grace.

And the food comes out, and .. is served. The satyr samples it, and his eyes light up in surprise

And he savors.. as only a true lover of food can

And then when he is done, sends a message to the chef. rises, and bows to the Baroness "Baroness, I am Lord Shelby Guzzlehorn, in service to Chief Greyhawk, King of the Kingdom of the Blazing Sun. "
