He doesn't need it, but he gives her a respectful nod.

And Pepper is more open "They're loving it"

He nods. "Good." although he might not be heard over the kitchen noise.

A server comes in "Is a special order allowed?"

"Depends on what it is." Cliff whispers, and offers to take the order to read (if it is written).

And its handed to him. A rare dish, carefully prepared cacti, and either a wild turkey or lizard/snake protien. It's legit in the Southwest culture but rare

A soft grunt, and he nods. He jots something on the note and shows the server "I can come close."

"Do what you can" the boggan says "How long till it's ready?"

"15 minutes."

A nod, and he ducks out

Cliff gets to work with the cacti, and has someone pull the back up snake meat from the fridge. Yes, he's been serving snake meat, among other things.

Pepper blinks "Did I eat sn-" She starts to ask but Mary Ellen puts a hand on her shoulder and shakes her head. Did you enjoy the meal? then don't ask. And Pepper gets the snake

He has to admit, a few bumps aside, Mary Ellen and Pepper are backing his play and letting him lead.

-THAT- is what the fried lumps of fried on a toothpick were. That might lead one to wonder what the crunchy little fried things were........

The cacti takes the longest to prep up, and that's where he focuses. The snake gets some seasoning and set up to be flame-grilled.

Eventually, he plates the cacti and snake, wipes the plate, and sends it out.

And shortly, a returned message, "Compliments to the Chef. "

He reads it, nods, and moves on; still lots of trays needing lots of snacks.

Oh yes. Compliments keep flowing in. The baroness is sure to hear them as well.

Cliff seems to have a solid work ethic; he lets the compliments wait for later, and keeps the food coming and going.
