"Ha, perhaps either way I'm in the pink" the flapper smiles and says "Ready?"

Another steadying breath before she puts on a smile. "As I'll ever be!"

Nessa is waiting by the door as Sparrow enters, and tips her hat to the Baroness. "Lady Spa- Um. Are we supposed to address you differently tonight?" Her original costume idea has been played upon and improved with help from both Hope and Pepper, though it's somewhat of a shame that it's only from the waist up. The boots WERE nice.

"Oh, you look amazing!" Sparrow grins.

Dio beams "Oh my... "

"Really, the cape isn't too much?" She bows to Dio, whispering, "I don't know WHY you have an entire closet of capes, but thank you!"

Sparrow is in yellow - a feathered mini skirt and striped leggings and is somehow both very silly AND sexy.

"Why? Why wouldn't one" Dio says

A bemused smile, and then a laugh as she takes in Sparrow. "Are you a... a chicken??"

She grins. "Bawk!"

Dio laughs "Original recipe? Come on..."

"I'm coming. Okay!"

In the main ball room area, folks are clapping ato a polka song, NOT the Chicken Dance, at least not yet

She enters, fighting the urge to run and hide.

"Hello, Bright Winds." Trying to sound bright and loud and happy, but there's a hint of nerves.

Folks look confused, startled, then someone laughs!

And more laughter breaks through the room

A nervous smile back and she bows.

Stew mutters "Somehow, if I were just a bit older, I'm sure this would lead to therapy"

And Snitch comes up "NARF! I mean.. we have our fowl foul, but here we are: We have black Tea, we have chi tea, but we lack Royal Tea! Where is the low raised high? WHere is... our Queen?"

"Buh-caw? What? We need a queen! Queen! Queen!"

At that point, without missing a beat... a certain piskey on Piano plays the tune to Flash Gordan.. bump bubmp bump.. FLASH AAAAAHHHHH and sings.. some join in

The veil spell is dropped and there, in a decadent sequined reclincer covered in rhine stones along the edges, a woman clearly into her cups and wearing a crown and mask and wonderful dress says "HERE I am..." Her voice may sound familar

at least to irene

Irene's jaw drops!

"My queen!" The Chicken bustles to the dias and does another sweeping bow.

It is the nobles and thanes who follow the bow first...

well first after the chicken!

Others follow the same system...

"We welcome you and await your proclamations! May we party, Your Highness?"

"Let the feeve... festy... " she hiccups "Let's get this party started! I so command!"

And Sparrow feels a disturbing sensation, fae titles are not like mortal titles, she truly feels that right now, her sovereign would work only on the commoners if that. And not on the Queen. THe holiday has flipped things over

"Huzzah!"

And folks begin to dance, and play games... a few look at the fool wondering she'll entertain

Sparrow hesitates a little, and then tries to dance in a silly way - the macarena, the hustle, the electric slide...

And yes, some chicken dance.

And the musicians play to each tune, it's a comedic game of catch up as they race the tunes to match

others laugh

A flicker of a nervous smile at the laughter. That's the goal, right?

"Bird girl... you're throwing off the tempo of the music.. now ..come here" The Queen says and waves her sceptre about and points "I have a quest for you"

"Coming, My Queen! " A spin-turn that turns into a tumble and she rolls up to the dias.

Irene nudges Grete. "That's my mom!"

Some folks are impressed by the tumble. Sparrow IS agile

"Chicken girl...." She says "You are very pretty, were I an evil queen... " A laugh "I'd be looking for a huntsman. Instead...sweetie, could you pick the cutest guy in this place and have him pulled up front? I think I need a wine bearer or foot rubber or something"

"Oh, forsooth and verily! Gentlemen! Line up for inspection!"

And all the men line up

"Attennnnnn HUT!"

The queen staggers off her throne to sway before them "Well hard to tell with the costumes but.. carnivale right?"
