And leads her to where they are preparing food things for the holiday. He sneaks under a table, and lifts a tarp. Under it, is a soft serve ice cream dispenser! It has strawberry, chocolate, Vania and custom.. but someone has put a big sticker that says GRAPE

"Ewwww. Grape?"

He nods and gets a small dixie cup, then presses. Purple ice cream pours out "Well, it's grape ish?"

"Why grape?"

"Oh I .. someone was silly I guess" He looks embarrassed and offers it to her

She takes it and tries it.

Tastes purple

Kind of like frozen Grape soda

"Ooo.."

"I know, it's terrible." He nods

"Do you think I could maybe have a little of your grape ice cream tomorrow?"

"Okay, but after the tenth helping I'm cutting you off" he says, smiling a bit now

Grin. "Deal!"

Adult feet approaching

She finishes the little cup-o-purple.

"Shh.." Under the table!

And he hides with her after he flips the tarp back

Hope can be heard "Does it have all the flavors?"

"It does" Mary Ellen's soft voice says "Though we had to special make the grape mix. I hope it's good. Why did we get that?"

"Stew insised... " Hope says

"That's odd" Mary Ellen says "he's not that big a fan of grape soda"

She gives him a LOOK.

"He said we needed PURPLE stuff or he'd throw a pout" Hope says "maybe he changed his mind, or it's part of a pooka prank? Just hide i from the children so it'll be a surprise"

And then - hug!

he gets a hug and mouths 'nnow, are you going to believe honest people or what a pooka tells you?'

FInger to her lips and a nod.

And adult feet move on but not before Mary Ellen says "Speaking of surprises, did you get that thing for the kids?"

"Sure did, we may never get them out of there" She chuckles and . .. the rest is lost to earshot

Irene strains to hear.

"We need a sluagh kid for spying."

"I'll try to lose weight" he offers

"But you need to be fluffy."

"Malnourishment, the enemy of strong feathers" A sigh

"You probably need milk."

"Mom says it has calcium. So does broccoli, but it's broccoli."

"Blasted Brocilli, it's ruined Brocili"

"Hey, your archery is hardly killing any innocents at all" He pauses "Ah.. well, you mean what I say"

"Oh, I won't hurt any nice people! Just bad ones!"

"Mmm between you and Santa that's TWO reasons to stay on the nice list"

The boy blushes at something

"Are you being bad for Carnival? Like... like... the Creeper?"

"No, I didn't want to bring politics into it" he assures

"I'm gonna be Robin Hood!"
