Ashlee says "Should we whisper it?"

Running her thumb over it. "I could try... It doesn't feel like any metal I've ever felt. It might not talk to me. If it's like a trod, that's high-magic, not good ol' Earth." Looking to Felicity.

Felicity says "here.. I'll put my hand on you, you cast the whisper. I'm CURIOUS"

And she does, and glamour flows.. as an odd working together starts

Grete holds on and lets her own glamour flow as well, as she seeks to comprehend the pretty little mystery.

"Shiny shard, a trod like the sun - leftover after the battle was won. Who are you?"

"I'm a sliver of the Yule star's light, where Chiron's people traveled anew. I'm the bane tto fell things of Elder Dark. I'm a piece the nockers didn't catch. I'm the rock of sungold that does not protect, yet my power you should neglect"

Grete repeats it back in case the whisper was unheard. Stumbling a bit on the unfamiliar name. "What's a Chiron? I think we maybe should take this to Lady Sparrow."

"Chiron was the teacher of heroes, a centaur like no other, from him learned they the wise ways, from some centaurs took direction."

Grete ponders this. "I heard that there was a centaur but it was a Chimera. I think. There was a lot going on..."

"Pretty sliver, you would know. If the centaurs are real, can you tell me so? And where did they come from, where did they go?" She's not great at rhyming, it takes her a few moments to think of a question, and she tries to sneak a second one in at the same time.

"As real as you, little wichtel, though they're relearning who they'll be. They came from the forgotten parts of the Dreaming, and now in your lands run free. Now you've asked a lot of questions. And I'm done talking for now, but I suggest you don't lose me. I have wisdom left to later shower"

and the cantrip ends

"Oh, I tired it out. I'm sorry. I should have asked if you wanted to ask a question." To Felicity.

Felicity says "no no.. it's okay. I think it.." She knits her brow "I think maybe you were the right one to do it. I will need to rest near the fire though"

She seems thoughtful "Centaurs, returned. Chiron's get. This.. this is amazing"

"I wonder if Centaurs are friendly?" Ashlee ponders

"Let's get you back to the fire." Grete says, nodding. "I want this little shard to warm up, too. It doesn't feel as shiny as when I found it. Maybe the balefire will help it too. And we should tell the Lady." A last look around. "I can bring screws and tools when we come back. It will be a GOOD fort."

Ashlee beams "Can we make a fort here?"

"Maybe we'll bring things TO the hold and you can make a fort in a safer area with this material" the Gwydion says

Grete juts out her chin. "If there are centaurs out there, we won't meet them inside. We could use these pieces to build fortifications..." Tapping at the sheet of chimerical steel in emphasis. "There's good stuff here, and it doesn't make sense to make a fort INSIDE a hold."

"Well, the baroness will determine. You are, I remind, all still childlings" Morthwyll reminds

Felicity mutters "As if we were ever going to forget"

Ashlee nods and sighs

A frown, but she nods reluctantly.

And they start to head back.

When Ashlee looks to the side "I thought..."

Grete is looking at the ground, of course, but glances up when Ashlee speaks. "Yeah?"

"I thought i saw a rider... over there but it may have been all this centaur talk"

Morthwyl turns and looks that way "Let's go on, Children. Whoever it was if it was, they are not htere now"

A sigh, and she plods along. Her pace lightens a bit as she remembers that she gets to show the special thing she found to the Lady.

Ashlee whispers "We did our duty, and you did it well. It's good!"

and to the tower they return
