She peers at her liege's wings "I was wondering, but was afraid to ask"

"I can put on unaltered clothing but it... well, damages. I once forgot myself at work after a long shift in uniform."

"OH goodness.. did you have a wardrobe malfunction?"

"Well, I usually managed eight hours, but my replacement was late..." She shakes her head. "A friend found me soon enough, got me back."

"I'm glad. Look, what do you want to do with the mortal side of your life? What makes you happy to do?"

"Well... you had talked about teaching kids to paint..."

"I mean, something like that? A place where people could come and make beauty and feel happy?"

"I think that's wonderful." She says "And I bet we could do it. I know places you could buy for a song." A blink "Oh, that reminds me... we have a celebrity in town!"

"We do?"

"A professional wrestler.. Caesar.. "

Her wings fluff and she grins.

"Oh, we should invite him here!"

"Well, that I can do!" She says " I know where he's staying and while I can't flicker flash or fly, I can walk thorugh walls when I need to." She straightens her outfit "When do you want him?"

"Oh, soon - but don't tell him my name! I want him to be surprised!"

"Maybe try something ominous... that the Baroness has summoned him..."

"I point out I can get to him, I can't out wrestle him" she laughs "But well, we'll give it a shot. I'll try now"

An impish smile. "Thank you, Hope."

"Permission to take Little Joe along in case of trouble?"

"Granted."

She bows "this could be fun" And heads out

time passes, and Caesar's voice can soon be heard "Look. I heard the new boss wwas nicer than the old boss, but don't you think this is a bit heavy handed?"

Sparrow goes behind a drape!

"Her imperilenss is the soul of generosity"

"You have brought the interloper?" The chilly voice calls, unseen.

"I have, most grandeurous one" She says

"That.. is not a word" Caesar says "Baroness. I'm not working with the balor if that's what this is about"

"So - why have you come to my Barony, unbidden?"

"I was helping the Casa Hogar Orphanage in Alpine nearby, well, close anyway... heard about the change here, came to see about real estate. "

"Swooping in like some kind of vulture!"

"Wow." he says "Looks, I don't know what you've heard about me, but mostly I rnt out to other changelings and their family at generous prices"

A tall figure emerges from the shadows, wings mantled. "And probably going to give to kids in need, too! You scoundrel!"

GRIN.

"I.. SPARROW?" He laughs and grabs her about the waist and lifts her up. Tall as she is, hee's troll big so.. she's now almost flying just being lifted "You paint mixing minx ,what are YOU doing here?"

She laughs as she's lifted. "Caesar!"

"So, well, I may have accidentally committed a coup..."

He sits her down "Wait , You're the Brightwing who brought the Brightwinds?"

Gently mind you

"I hadn't heard that nickname yet. But yes, I'm the new sheriff in town. So to speak. And you've met Steward Hope and Little Joe... they're from here."

"I gathered " he grins "Look at you" he says "you've always been gorgeous, but this territory must agree with you. you're shining, your wings are propped up with a good luster and pride."

"Oh, it's all that big sky...."

"Well, I can see why this place might have the house I arranged for you beat" Caesar grins

"Yes, I'm afraid I won't be returning to KC after the pandemic... "

"No problem" he says "I mean, KC's loss and I'll miss having you nearby, but hey, from what I hear you really saved this place from a nasty dude"

"He did" Hope says "And my apologies sir. Can I get you a drink?"

"Got a beer?" he asks "And it's okay

"Got a beer? this is Texas. We'll run out of water before we run out of beer" She smiles

"But I certainly welcome you here! And I will sign that first lease - give our Rover's a place to stay outside of the Dreaming..."

"I haven't even seen the real estate around here, much" Caeser laughs "But speaking of which.. I got to say the houses here are..well, not what I'd call stylish"

A sigh. "Some are a little depressing. But some are very nice!"

"Not a problem.. construction jobs locally might be a good thing... "Caesar ponders "Good impression on the locals, builds your economy."
