And she's surprised to see the boggans staring in confusion INTO the kitchen.. but they're not in it.

"Hope?" A little wing rustle. "Is everything okay?"

"There's a troll in the kitchen" She says as if this alien

"Oh! I don't think there's a rule against that, is there?"

Sparrow peers in.

A redheaded troll woman appears to be frying burgers, smells good

Sniff, sniff...

"Bison meat okay with you?" The troll calls back

"Yes?"

"Fan fucking tanstic" She says with a grin

And more sizzling meat

"Redfang, did she come with you?"

"She did. Pepper's got a foul mouth on her, but some Hearth training..."

The woman turns around "Shit. I mean.. begging your pardon, Baroness. I'm not too used to Courtly matters."

"We're not the most formal court. Hello, I'm Sparrow. And I think you may have surprised the Steward."

"Oh sorry, just figured I'd be useful while we got the word if you wanted us. Hell, when Sylvi gave that speech I felt an urge to charge down here and cook a balor, but then I remembered they're probably venomous so.. hell. Might as well make something we could eat. Now I use a light peppering... but not anything as strong as tex mex. I can slip in more or less as you like... "

"I'm from Kansas, so..."

"Not a problem.. oh, you've never been treated to Ohio white chili I bet. That'l lbe another night."

"Well, Hope, it looks like one of our Thanes might also be helpful in the Household... Hearths are usually well trained in the kitchen, trolls have big appetites."

"You ain't kidding there" Pepper says "Hell, Siv and I used to raid the ship larders when folks wouldn't look."

The steward whispers "Is she going to be offended if I inspect this meal before we assign her cooking duties?"

"You sailed with Siv?"

A nod at Hope. "We'll see how this goes, yes."

"Heck, I sailed before there was a Siv.. time works funny in the Dreaming." A nod from Pepper, then a look to the Steward "And I'm sorry, just the kitchen was not going to use so I figured I'd double my chances to get accepted. KNEW You'd take the Redfang, who wouldn't?" A look at her "I can skewer a lot more than a kabob"

"Now, Hope runs the household, she's the Steward."

"And if you sailed the Kestrel, that must mean you know Sir Frank!" Happy feathers.

"The WaveMaiden more than the Kestrel. But yeah" A grin "Doubt he'd remember me well. " then she looks to Hope,"Ah, Steward. I'm sorry. I did storm on in."

"I'd say it's all right, but, I want to see if you're any good first" Hope answers with a cautious smile. She's getting used to trolls.

But still a bit nervous

"Little Joe vouches for Redfang, Hope. And if Pepper passed the Shacklebreaker's sniff test, I think we're okay to be optimistic."

Soon, troll sized bison burgers with options of fresh purple onions and leafy greens with condiments a plenty are set out, some had cheese to make cheese burgers of them. Large steak fries on the side, golden and crispy "And still hot" on the side

"Ooo, cheese..." It's the little things.

"What's your favorite sort of Cheese?" Hope asks. Making a note of what to order

Sparrow makes sure everybody has a plate before popping a (h-h-hot) fry in her mouth.

Grete appears in the doorway, following her nose. Peeking in.

She covers her mouth with her hand as she does the open-mouth chew. "A-h-h... I like lots of cheese? I'll try just about any of them"

"Grete! Burgers!"

Her eyes widen and she takes a step in, then pauses.

"Am I supposed to wait until you're done?"

Her brow furrowing a touch. It's hard to keep track of so many changes.

"Cheese" Hope notes

"There's plenty, grab one. And fries!"

And the boggans set the plates out

Another moment's hesitation as she eyes the new Troll. A lot of new faces coming in. Enough to orchestrate a new regime after people get comfortable. But Hope seems comfortable, and people can't sneak bad intentions past a boggan right? And they DO smell awfully good. The fries decide the matter and she heads over to grab a plate. "Did you cook this?" To Sparrow, surprised. "I didn't think Sidhe DID anything."

And then a wince. "I mean."

"Sorry."

"I'm used to sidhe being TELLERs not DOERs"

"She's a straight shooter" The redheaded Troll Pepper says

"I didn't cook it. I mostly lived on eggs and hot dogs when I was on my own. Pepper here..." A nod. "Was the cook."

A look at Pepper - a look UP at Pepper. "It smells good." Taking a bite. "It tashtes goob!" She doesn't tell Pepper what she's used to Trolls being. Not after tasting that burger.
