"Surely" He nods "And... congratulations. I think he's here to tell you he agrees."

"That's good. I hope you are right."

And soon enough, cleaned up and dresses as suits her, the Baroness has her meeting in the study

Sparrow asks Clarence for a carafe of coffee, plus mugs and fixin's.

And they are ready. Clio asks "Do you need me to record this moment? Or..write up a paper of some sort?" Peeking in

"For now, I think it shall be a private chat. But thank you, Clio."

Clio bows and withdraws.

Sparrow pours herself a cup.

And then Hastien comes in. He's dressed, nicely. Shining breast plate, symbol of the rovers on a cloak. He bows "Your ladyship" He says "Thank you for seeing me. I'm told today has been busy. If you need to post pone, I can"

"No, I have time. There's coffee, if you'd like." A gesture.

"Thank you, quite nice of you. " He takes the coffee "is everyone okay? Rovers don't just work trods you know. I can give you back up in the streets"

"We had an incident today - a Balor brought in cold iron, and set some zombie chimera loose."

He scowls "So not just the trods at all. All right. I definitely advice allowing at least one rover to take up a patrol. Coordinate with your own patrols."

"Luckily, the new blood wants glory. We prevailed, and the Balor is in the dungeons below. However, I would not turn down extra boots on the ground."

"Well, in that spirit... your offer of alliance is accepted, with One request."

"Oh?"

"it is Olgar's suggestion, for simplicity sake, that whoever is in charge of the outpost on your behalf have all authority of a titled knight, not actual knighthood, but something to keep him seen as equal with the knights of your court. And only as long as they hold the post. "

"Ah, and with Olgar's... rather unique mug, it must have ..." he nods "I see why he called you brave. Fighting an Ogre is one thing. Battle trauma is another. " A nonjugmental look

She nods. "I respect Olgar. He's tough, but sometimes.. you need that."

"Does't make the bruises heal any faster" A troll smile, which is to say a flicker of a reegular smile

"True enough."

"So... hm. A title for a knight who is not a knight."

"Perhaps - Commander?"

"That'd be fine. And thank you. Also, when I swear the Oath of Alliance. Do you want it in front of a crowd or a private ceremony? Frankly I have no prefernces but it occurs to me there might be political messages either way that could work for you"

"There is strength in a public vow, true - but I would not want to taint the reputation of impartiality that the Rovers treasure."

"Well, the alliance angle rather than fealty should do that" he ponders "But you're being very nice to take that into account.Perhaps.. mm that might work. How would you feel about a private oathing, but a Rover Axe on the wall or a banner from us? No higher than any other symbol, lower is fine, but the point is it would give a subtle nod?"

She nods. "I believe that could work."

"We'll arrange something. Then.. I guess all that's left is the Oath. Your call when. And I'll take some non trod patrols in the city now and then. Helps fight off Bedlam. "

"It does. Would you wish to, now?"

"Certainly" He takes off his weapon and holds it out in two hands

She also places her hands on the axe.

Sparrow nods, and replies, "I, Baroness Derynwydd Truthbranch, accept and return your alliance. May our strength feed yours, may our people prosper together, may we defend these lands with unity in purpose."

The glamour flares between them... as each gains a blessing from the oath

Indeed - despite the Liam touch, Hastien finds strength, not weakness, in the Oathing.

And most noticeable for Derynwydd, that alertness enhanced in seeing to her ally. Any knife at his back will have a harder time in the shadows. And she might realize he could say the same for her.

She releases the axe and reaches out to touch his forehead. "And I, as Baroness of Bright Winds, do recognize you, Hastien, as Commander of the Silver Outpost, with all honors and responsibilities as due, for so long as you hold the post."

The fire of this hold spikes. This is important...and noted!

"Yes, you heard that." She comments to the flame.

He looks startled as if feeling something that wasn't there before, then he chuckles "Olgar told me that it would feel an abrupt sensation in the backside. That's not what it feels like"

"Ah, and you feel your fire, too. It's... it's unique, isn't it?"
