She can go stone quiet when she wants, and just listens.

"Nockers are good folk. Talk too fast, but good."

"Talented. There are some rooms in the lower levels that might work for workshops."

"Oh.." A surprised look "Well, I'm not sure she knows what she wants, but... I'll offer since you're so kind to do so. "

"Well, the nockers will need to sort out their own pecking order. I believe it usually involves stories of injuries? It is a complex ritual."

He smiles "I don't know too many other nockers, but that sounds about right"

"If I'm the only wichtel around, that means I'm top dog." Amused.

"That's true. So when I collect advisors from each kith, be prepared to share opinions."

"That's an interesting idea" Bix agrees "At least one advisor of each kith makes folks feel more involved." he seems surprised by the idea being mentioned

"Well, I am the newcomer."

"I have an opinion. No one ever asked for it before." She seems a little surprised.

"If you wanted one, it got told to you." Frown

"Well, your opinion matters. We can't always get or do everything we want, but I think it's important to know what everyone cares about."

"You should write it down." A nod.

Bix looks amused

"You need a writer-downer. Then if you say you never said something, there's a record."

"No forgetting. Or changing your mind. Or..."

"Ah. Accountability, yes."

A nod.

"For now, do you mind remembering things for me?"

A frooooooown, not upset. but thinking. "Gonna need some paper."

"I've got some paper if you want it" Bix reaches into his backpack

And suddenly she lights up. "Can you find my pen?"

"Your pen? Maybe... what's it look like?" He asks

"It's got a silver nib and it's hard to write with. You have to hold it just so. And you gotta put ink in it, and it makes a mess. It was a present. Harkkon took it."

Her chin juts a bit.

"Jerk."

"It's made of alabaster. I could get Mom to buy me a new one... but I liked that one."

"Mmm" Bix ponders "I will keep an eye out for it"

"You can tell it's mine because it's heavy - but not too heavy, and it's grey with a smudge in the stri-a-tions. Like milk."

"So will I. Maybe the sluagh, they're good at finding things - but they'll want something in exchange for it."

"...."

She considers this, frowning. "It's mine, though."

"It is - you aren't paying for the pen, you are paying for their skill in finding it."

Now that seems to make sense. "I suppose that's different then. I thought you meant they'd take it and make me... what's it called. Like a hostage."

Bix frowns "I'm certain taht won't happen here"

"Sluagh have their ways, and are very particular about manners."

"Ransom." She nods. "That's the word I was looking for."

"no charge" A voice says softly "consider it an overture from one kith advisor to another" Wenceslas steps out of the shadows, and produces a pen

"Oh!" Her wings flick and she smiles. "Reeve Wenceslas."

THE Pen

"That's my pen!" Her eyes widen. Looking from Sparrow to the sluagh, she considers him. "Do you mean it?"

"yes. i do not blame you for you relation to that man. you were a prisoner as much as any of us" cautiously he offers it "and I do not wish a Witchtel's vengeance. That would be..." savoring the right words.. finding one "vexing at the least"

She considers this, reaching out for the pen. "Was it hard to find? I looked. He was good at hiding things. If it was a raw stone still, I could have found it, but it's worked now, it's... gets slipperier."

"Did you take that name because you can squirm like the stretchy guy? From the Fantastic four. Reeve Richards?"

Sparrow smiles at that.

"Reeve is the title of my new job" the sluagh says "The other name is.. germanic. ironic. he was seen as a merry individual"

"Irony can be a suiting thing."

"What does a Reeve do?"

Bix says "Nice to meet you, Reeve. I'm Bix ..."
