Dad is serving... Chicken.

Les looks at it, then looks at his sister, then looks at the chicken again, "Huh. Kind of like canablism for you, huh sis?" He asks Amity.

Egon snickers.

Karel Novak ahems, "Stop that. Beef is a wee bit pricey now."

"Rar. Viscious cannibal."

Les grins "There you go ."

The meals ARE in danger of being a bit ... repetititve . WHile her parents don't say much of it, the house is a big investment even at a discount and they're focusing on resources elsewhere. THe goodnews ? Mom's solar panels are already paying off on cutting down the AC costs.

Mr. Novak smiles at his daughter, then says "Now where did I put the wife? " He sighs "She's overworking in her lab again."

"Never!"

"Right. I'll go get her," he says "Where's my hockey mask and protective gloves?"

Egon laughs at that.

For a moment, the three sibs are left among themselves, Egon says "I love it here, but how come we got chicken so much?"

Les says "Because Mom and Dad ain't rich and corpos are greedy."

"What's wrong with chicken?"

"We just eat a LOT Of it now," Egon sighs, "Chicken drumsticks, Chicken soup. I'm TIRED of chicken."

"Maybe it's not all about you."

"Just saying, " Egon looks put out, "What i can't get tired of chicken? You're not the boss of my belly."

Les looks over at his little brother then says "If you're not gonna eat yours, I will." He's always hungry.

"I don't think I will, EXCUUSE ME" the young boy says says in a huff and trots off at Centaur speed.

She huffs.

"Ohhhhhh what about MEEEEEEEEEEE. MEEEE mEEEeeee MeeeEEEEeeeEEEEE."

Les starts to reach for Egon's plate. More for him. That's when Mom comes up "Fine fine I'm here I..." SHe looks around hearing her daughter , seeing her older son about to take food from a third platee, and behind that plate? "Where the furk is Egon?"

"He was here when I went to get you," Karel observes.

"I dunno. Doing horse things."

Les says "He generously gave me his chicken, what a guy." Deadpan. / Mrs. Novak sniffs the air, "I smell a lot more than chicken. What the furk happened here? Les, did you scare him off?" / Les grouses "Always profling. "

Amity rolls her eyes, barely managing not to scowl.

"Okay I'll go try to bring him back to the table," Dad says, "He's GOT to eat something."

Neither parent quite away of the boy's rebellion against more chicken.

She pokes at her food, silent.

While Dad heeds off. Mom takes the food back from Les and says "Look, one of you knows a bit more than you're telling. And one of you gets misunderstood. But I'm listening."

Les frowns, and not just because extra chicken just got taken back, "Look, Egon is just... being a picky eater." He's not sure he wants to bring up anything that makes his folks feel bad. He's a cap, not a raging asshole. Well, not today.

"I didn't tease him."

She pushes the canned green bean around.

A light cursing in Mom's grumble then she sighs "Okay. He's picky? Makes no sense. He's been eating Chicken plenty before now. As for teasing him, not sure what that has to do with the food but ..." Her brow knits as she starts to proccess. Then... deduction is rendered needless.

As Egon's voice echoes down the halls "But it's ALL we eat!" AN exageration, but it is the main meat.

Clearly Egon is telling his dad, but Mrs. Novak aka Mom winces, as it all sinks in. Her husband does a lot of cooking, and works hard, but she.. she feels the sting of ...well, parental failure.

"Oh," Finally the nocker says, Her spirals dimming a bit, "Well, that solves that."

"He forgot about the spaghetti. And beanie weenies. And blue box night."

"It's not very fair."

"Mmph, don't ask what meat was in the sauce for the spaghetti, but thanks kid." Mom gives the pooka girl a pat on the shoulder, "How about you? I know Les will eat anything... god bless him, but if you're tired of something it's probably best you tell your Dad and I."

Dad enters in, his own brow knit, "He's skipping dinner tonight. WHich means he'll be hungry in an hour. I'll heat it up then."

Les looks baffled. Is he the GOOD kid now? Holy shit. That's weird.

"What about PB&J?"

"It's a perfect meal, y'know. All the food groups."

"I mean, I'm not sure exactly how you milk peanuts to churn the butter, but I know that George Washington was involved."

"Carver, George Washington Carver," Her mom says with awe rather than too much fussing "Man was a genius. I'm sure he was Nocker Kinian with an interest in biology."

"Right! What I said! This country was FOUNDED on peanuts!"

"Heh" She makes her mom perk up "We'll give him a choice , reheated chicken or a PBJ." A nod to her husband "And let's keep an eye out for deals on pork."

"Didja know pigs'll eat people?"

"Seems only fair to eat'm back."
