Sally Mae, ahead of them, feels almost guilty for having shown them something that was too far out of their price range. These people want off the farm despite their appreciation. She can relate.

Amity might be sulking. Correction - Amity IS sulking.

It had a great roof and high room and everything. AND it had lots of yard space for Egon to run around in.

Heck, there was even a basement Les could have murdered someone in and no one would have heard the screams!

"I am very sorry, Mrs. Novak, but finding a ranch style but with a tower is proving to be... challenging," Sally Mae says "Given the parameters." One of those being money.

Karel squeezes his wife "Dont' forget we'll save loads of money on energy once we get a house. My wife can squeeze a sun for all it's worth." HE pauses "S-U-N... not S-O-N." He adds "Though she might be able to with Les and Egon too I suppose."

"We don't want all that."

"It's stupid."

Egon sighs, "Well, 'I' wanted it. A BIG yard, that way if the house was small I could still run."

She glares.

"How would you like a bit smack upside your head?" Les growls at Egon.

Egon hides behind his sister, sees she's glaring, and ducks behind dad.

"Towers are dumb."

"We don't threaten family, Les," Karel tells Les./ Les looks over at his mother. /"That's different," his dad says "IT's part of your mom's love language."/ Les winces as Dad compares threats to a love language; thus making threats sound TOTALLY uncool.

Neesa puts a hand on her daughter, "Amity, it's sweet of you to support but I did say we'd try so I know you were hoping."

"Well, I'm not a baby."

"Yeah, you've gotten stringy," Les agrees helpfully.

Nessa hurmphs, "No you're not." / Sally mae says "We do have an old 1950s Pre Fab post world war 2, but the bedrooms are on the second floor so Egon might struggle a bit."

Egon winces "I could TRY?"

"New Jersey is stupid."

Sally Mae is no Hearth but she knows when childlings are frustrated you don't help by arguing with them and who knows ? With Pooka talk this could be praise. Doubtful though.

"It's not stupid, it's so close to New York City you'll be able to wing it over to skycrappers and stuff" Her mom says "One of the reasons we thoughtt it woudl be good for you. You can have it all here, Sub Urban and Supra Urban with green nearby too."

"So's Des Moines."

Her mom lowers her head, her colors going a bit blue gray/ "AH," her father says "But does Des Moines have a trod nearby that leads to your friend, Briar?" Her father smiles.

"Like we need another redcap around," Egon mutters and is ready to avoid his brother's arm grab.

"I could fly there...."

"Well, if you flew there from Des Moines even WE would get worried," Her dad admits "that's a LONG trip."

(Heh) As they move along to the next option on the list, they drive by a road that has one house that just screams "mess with my owner" ... it has signs in it that say NO TRESPASSING , another that says No Solicitors! and a third that says No Pets or Kids allowed!

It is almost as if the owner has built a challenge to childlings. And that is... intriguing. There's a fence that is ASKING to have a stick run against it. There is a space on the pale drive way that would be perfect for Chalk of Hopscotch.

A little warble-coo as she spots the target... er... fine neighborly lawn.

Would she want to live there? Perhaps not, but she feels it mocking her. ANd then she looks across it. A yard that has seen better days with a house like wise... It has two garage doors, perhaps partisianed off from each other but still connected to the house by a connection... and... it must at one time have been the home of a person in a wheel chair, for their are inclines and ramps rather than stairs at least on the exterior. The color is blah, but nothing that could be touched up. What really gets her attention is the great TREE looming in the back yard. It's not the tallest tree, nor the widest, but you could fit a whole platform on it easily, maybe more. Being a childling, she might not be able to name the style of house, but the try ? that is begging to have a tree house of servicable size built there just like dad promised. Maybe Les could eat the owner and free it up for sale? Or... more legal, maybe it doesn't have an owner?

"Well, that doesn't seem friendly," Her dad speaks up, and he's looking at the FIRST house with the signs. / Sally Mae slows down, "Oh dear, that's Miss McGillidudy... she's .. not an autumn person, the Mountain says she has a purpose, a destiny, but she sure is a crank."

Egon gasps "NO Kids allowed? Ever, EVER EVER?"

"Neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr."

"HOw many mail boxes does she need?" Les asks no one in particular "Round down." / Sally Mae AHEMS.

"Hold up," Nessa makes a motion, "That ugly hued house across from it, with the two garages... are those seperarte garages?" She inquires.

Sally Mae pulls into that lane after all, "As a matter of fact, yes? I believe so. It's not on my list, and you didn't say you needed two garages..."

Mrs. Novak is thinking... her spirals alight with inspiration, "We DO only need one furking garage, that's the point."

Then she looks at Egon, and his hooves under him, then looks to the house again, "What do you think of that house, Amity?"

"Looks like a pile of dirty laundry."

"It's not in good condition, " Sally Mae warns, "Soem of the ramps have breaks in them.." / "I can jump over those!" Egon insists. / "Let's check it out if we can," Her mom says, a chimerical light bulb flashing, "I see.. Tree house. I see one garage turned into a bedroom... I see solar power. and.. yeah this could work
