He ponders this "mmmh" A look to his daughter ("You okay with this?")

A little shrug. ("dunno.") Ah, helpful teenagerese carries over to Trollish.

Jaymes scratches his chin, then says "If you wanted to try a shift or two, we can see how it works out, Masey."

"Fantastic" She says "I'll see if there's a hold I can crash at. Maybe Goldfinch"

A little crease between her eyebrows.

Tove looks at her daughter, "mmm?" ("If you want to invite her here, invite her. We'll make room")

Downward twitch. ("Please no.")

"Goldfinch is pretty cool. You been there? All music-y..."

"Went to a party once" Masey says "I really love the inclusive vibe, you know?"

She bobs her head.

"The wilder set seems to take to it" Tove nods "And it's a good dream. I'll beat president Sylvi would be happy to have some help there too if you need more than three days"

Jaymes actually looks a bit relieved as it seems Masey will not be staying with them.

"She's cool like that" Massey savors the food, "You do spices really well, Mrs King"

"Thank you" Tove smiles "You should try my hot stuff"

Massey blinks mid chew, swallows, then say "This is your mild?"

"Yup," Tove says a bit smugly.

Massey admits to Dagmar "I'm a bit afraid of your mother now"

"Well, it's pretty justified. Should try her hot chicken, sometime."

"Will there be a first responder unit nearby?" Massey attempts a joke

Jaymes actually slips a smile at that. A guffaw by his standards.

Tove shoots her husband a warning look, but isn't really insulted. "We'll build you up on your next visit"

"I'll risk it" She grins

"Then there's the chili..."

Jaymes mmmphs in agreeement about that.

The discussion turns to dance, and sports ,and how college is... Massey does not betray any secrets she learned, but deftly redirects away from subjects that might make Dagmar uncomfortable, while still giving Dagmar praise and mentioning things like how Sam helped the sorority move a couch just be cause she was so nice. Tove and Jaymes LIKE This, as Sam doesn't exactly mention her own good deeds.

Note: Making Sam blush, not quite the same as uncomfortable, so yes, Sam gets thanks and praise for being so generous with her strength

Dag does turn gently purple, and demurs that anybody would help.

Her mother makes a bigger fuss,. but not too big. Jaymes is a quieter sort of pride.

But Dagmar can feel the warmth of it.

"Sissy deserves Dessert" CJ declares, a bit slyly, because, well, she can't have dessert ALONE.

"I like you, CJ. You're a smart cookie" Massey assures him.

And soon, 'Sissy' gets her desssert... as does anyone else.
