She considers. “Maybe, but doesn’t that need a lot of moving boxes and standing? I know he’d adjust as my mobility goes down, but I don’t want to make things hard on him. I wonder if I can get something working with kids? Maybe a music class for young’ns at a day care or summer camp… I wouldn’t ask for much pay.”

"I'm sure he'd let you use a chair" Siv opines then thinks about it "But well, a music class might be a good idea"

"Maybe Goldfinch could hold it?" Jaymes says "Children's music class in groups, limit it to some managble size. A few folks would use it as a babysitting I fear rather htan proper education"

“If they do,” she says with troll-like stoicism, “it’s good practice for me, right?”

To Siv, “oh, yes, but if he’s paying me good wages and then someone else has to move the stock? Fair is fair after all. There’s taking care of family, and not taking advantage too!”

a small smile, at some internal thought.

"Well..." Siv mumbles "We could take advantage a LITTLE"

"Piper is right on this, Siv. " Jonas says "Though I do have an idea. What if we were to use the 10000 dollars in part to provide musical instruments that could be used in class? Not to give to the children, but to learn on and use?"

She laughs. “Let’s save it for when we need it. The advantage, that is. I’ll need more help as things go on I think…”

“But that’s Siv’s.” She protests. “It could be new sails for the narwhal, or that fancy… the, um. The navigation thingy. That glorified compass you saw, rhe Nocker make one.”

Remembering Siv sighing over the shiny thing.

"Oh" Siv remembers then "Oh by now it's been sold I'm sure. But an investment in your work, that's not a bad idea." Siv ponders

“I might see if there are existing childcare groups I can go visit. That’s muhh can less investment on their part than moving kids to Goldfinch, which means waivers and parental agreements and all that. And…” a small pause, “I love Goldfinch, but I want to make sure I don’t invest all my work too heavily in one place.”

Jonas arches a brow "is there more to that ?"

“Not really.” A shrug, then, “Maybe. I’m still a bit itchy about how Sylvi dragged that pooka off the other day. It didn’t sit right with me.”

“Don’t think anyone heard back from
The guy afterwards neither.”

"Does Sylvi know how it troubles you?" Jonas asks

'See, I actually back Sylvi on that one... you play spy you take your chances" Siv shrugs

“Potential Spy or no, asking questions publicly at a neutral location- ask him to leave the party and investigate him on your own, sure. But haul him off without so much as a by your leave? That’s abuse of power in my book.”

An apologetic look to Siv. “Not telling you how to do your job, mind.”

"Didn't htink you were, and you have a right to be troubled" Siv says "But.. damage was being done that... mm no, nevermind"

"Talk to Sylvi about it, if it troubles you" Jonas insists "You love Goldfinch and you want to keep loving it"

“I do, and I will. But it doesn’t hurt to expand from there too.”

"Eggs in more than one basket and all that, to use a DeBukism" Jonas nods understandingly

A smile to Jonas, and a glance at the paperwork dropped off. "Should we have a lawyer look at that? Gwydion or no, I want to check for loopholes before we accept anything."

Jonas nods "I was thinking Anne Marie. She speaks bueracracy even better than I"

A nod, "Then I leave it to you, m'love."

She starts tidying up the wrappers and bags from lunch.

Taking joy in just how easy it is to walk around with ALL THREE OF THEM in one room!

"This place is actually decent sized" Siv sighs happily

"Let's hope Rikki doesn't want it back" Siv adds "if that's what her text was about tell her forget it. Deal's a deal"

"Hm? What text?"

"Not sure, about a minute ago I heard her text signal. I think it was hers... you tend to put in differenbt tunes for each of us"

"Oh!" Piper wipes her hands clean then checks her phone.

TXT Roof. Help

"Whuh oh! Excuse me, it sounds like someone got stranded on the roof." Piper pockets the phone and heads for the door.

"It is probably just a prank..." Jonas suggests but does not stop her

"Well, if I'm not back in 20 minutes, send ice cream."

She heads for the stairs up to the roof. Which is... an access area, or an actual deck/spot made for going up to for hanging out?

Oh there's something of a garden up there... lawn chairs and such.

For when you want more privacy than the pool.

She gets to the roof ...

She peers around. "Rikki?"

This time she sees it.. the small bloody pawprint of a racoon... near some of the large ferns

She crouches, peering into the plants, "Rikki, it's me. Are you okay?"

and she sees the racoon under the fern, in a still fresh pool of blood.

She stifles a shriek and reaches for her, to pull the raccoon into her arms, mindless of the mess.

Mess is right...the body still has warmth, but there is a nasty gash along her belly that threatens to let an entrail or two spill out. Fortunately in this form she is small so can be cupped so that doesn't happen. Though the blood continues to spill

"No no no no...." A quick moment of thought - does she know anyone at the Apartments who knows Heatherbalm or spring arts?
