"Nope!" She laughs. "I'm not telling."

"Do it, May" Lupe says "Make her spill"

"Oh come on...." May says "That's just wrong of me. You guys said I have to use that power responsibly"

"Movie!"

"Movie!" The other two join in, and look for their seats

Dagmar is spared May's dangerous power of finding tickle spots!

For now, at least!

They take their chosen location and snacks are passed back and forth, Sodas too, of course

Sam insisted on cherry coke. It's apparently better at the movie theater, beating out Dr. Pepper.

"Movies bring out the weird in her" Lupe stage whispers to May "I mean, Cherry Coke over Dr. Pepper?"

"Truly," May says dead pan "These are the end times"

"Cherry Coke is for movies."

"It goes better with popcorn."

"What? No way, Barq's rootbeer has bite"

"You and biting."

"We civilized folks like our lemon aid" A sip from May all pomp. It is, of course, actually a Lemonaid SODA

"Well, I suppose."

"If that's lemonade, I'm a cocapoo" Lupe mutters

The local ads start up. No big .

But then there's a bit on Goldfinch! It's fast, short, GOLDFINCH RECORDING STUIDOS AND MUSIC LESSONS = DARE TO BE LOUD

"Oh, cool!" She points.

"Hey, bad ass" Lupe says

"Is gold finch still going?" May remembers it vaguely

"Yeah, it's Piper's baby."

"Doing well, from what I understand."

"Well, it only bought like 10 seconds of screen time but yeah" Lupe nods

"Shhh" May says

"I'm not shhhing for trailers" Lupe says

"Shhhhhh!"

Lupe hmmphs but shhushes

"In a world..." begins the first trailer.

And the three whisper about which ones look like they'll suck, which ones look interesting, which ones they have GOT to see, and which ones they're not sure about

There's a new Captain Marvel movie, so of course Sam is there.

"I used to love Kamala" A whisper from May then considers "Maybe I still do."

"Have you seen the show? You could come over and watch..."

"Oh I have, " She beams, then says "Wouldn't mind watching it again though"

"Sounds like a plan" Lupe says. A small arts independent film that will appear in 'select' theatres has Lupe eye May just a bit, and then tease "THis is America, they should put movies in Spanglish"

"As a matter of fact, the director is a genius. She's won numerous awards and the language is FRENCH, you know, from one of the most creative cinemas in... " May starts up

Lupe just grins fondly

"Yeah?" Gentle prodding.

"Oh yes, see, her style isn't avant guarde, rather a celebration pastiche melding various eras... it's joyous, and surprisingly loving at times, realizing that innocence may be impossible, and that it never lasts, but that's all the more reason to delight in it. It's ..." She goes on a bit, missing another trailer entirely in her exciement
