TRue that he's in the hold, not so much all is WELL

Another crinkle of the eyes.

"If I had some connection I could find him with this" The Nocker holds up a device that looks a bit like a compas crossed with an EKG meter

"He's indisposed" Jeebs is almost shivering..

Jeebs had better shiver. Brekke's temper is being held by a thread.

Without looking away from Jeebs, she growls at the nocker, "I am his Oathmate. Connection enough?"

"Well, as it TRACKS Oaths and their sources, YES." The man says "You're not just angry and blue, you're useful. Here" He hands it to her

((Does the nocker's claim ring true?))

It does!!

"Engineer Addlepate, I must ask you not to use those devices in the hold.. .they're intrusive"

"You are useless," Brekke snaps at the boggan. "Be silent."

She takes the device and looks at it.

It immeditely lights up and pulls to the left

Siv looks at the nocker, and gives a soft knowing nod

"With me," she says to the others in her party, adding to Dirk, "Bring him," referring to Yoel.

Dagmar picks up her helm and snaps her heels.

Brekke pauses briefly and kenns the ropes.

A light protocal she suspects, to discourage folks and make them go through 'proper' channels. There is an urge to go bacck, wait patiently... as is proper.

But then, the device says to ignore it to reach the count.

Proper is following her Chief.

That is all she needs. Out of respect for the velvet, she unclips the rope and drops it (rather than cutting through it with Speaker). And then...onward.

Seems to work. As on they go.

A rather somber parade.

Brekke continues with absolute confidence that her people follow.

THey do, though Yoel mutters something about "I COULD wait right here" while Dirk all but drags him

They find a stairway, one that goes to a tower in the hold. Spiral stair case.

Brow?

And the device indicates...?

Up the stair case.

"Spiral favors defenders. Pity we don't have a lefty."

Siv nods "I can fight with my left pretty well, but not AS well as my right" She's an agile one

"Mm." A look from Siv to Brekke.

Brekke raises her silver left hand. "I am unconcerned." And she heads up.

Dagmar nods, and follows.

They all head up, going up one, two, floors then before they reach the third... a shadow falls down over them.

Another troll waits there. He is sizable, not as big as Brekke, but easily as big as Dagmar. He is armed with a double capped quarter staff. His gray skin bears the marks of past battles.

"Turn around. THis place is closed off" He warns

"By whose orders?"

Dagmar assess the guard. He's big, but he is outnumbered.

"One who outranks you" The troll says "And your liege. That is all you need to know, Chieftain. Please turn, I respect you, but I will not hesitate you to stop you"

Frown.

A brow. "This is my liege's hold. You are not sworn to him." A pause. "If your oathmate were imprisoned, what would you do?"

He considers "I would go through every nightmare dream of Hell to rescue him or her" He nods "If your liege told you to hold your post for the greater good of Concordia and told him to not let any pass. What would you do?"

Dagmar rolls her shoulders and cracks her neck.

Siv's hand goes to her hilt.

Dirk twitches "Let me at em boss"
