"We can draw! My mom gave me this" Layne beams "She's great"

"really layne, pastels?" Lily looks pained

Cleo pats Lily "Just take the red and pretend it's drying blood finally flaking away?"

Lily does brighten at that

Connor offers one of the sticks of chalk to Jodie.

"We can draw a pushmi-pullyu, if you start on one head..."

Jodie takes it

"I don't know what one looks like" She says

"Well, they're kinda like a goat... or a deer... or maybe a llaaaaaama.... no one has ever seen one, so it could look like anything. It has two heads and no tail..."

"Oh, and horns!"

"horns are good" Jack says, dreaming of the day his buds burst open

And .. Jodie starts to doodle

Connor watches, and does not correct, instruct, or scold. He admires whatever shape it takes. "I didn't think of it like that." Impressed, as he draws his kinda like a goat.

Hers looks a bit more like a camel head with a unicorn horn

"I'm not sure I'm good at this"

"Well, it's a GOOD camel, but a bad horse" Jack says

Lane sighs at him, then says "It looks VERY nice"

"The horn looks quite lethal" Lily adds

"Oh, ONE horn! THat will make it easier to tell the sides apart!"

He adds a little beard on his goat with twisty horns.

And, a couple flowers on it's head.

Jodie looks left, looks right, and adds some flowers as well

Connor encourages, Connor cheers her on. Jodie smiles... and then, then she gets confused, and snorts a bit as if..agitated

She drops the chalk "I.. I need to go"

"Jodie?" Layne says

"I need to go to the office" Jodie says a bit more growly

and she grabs her things and starts to leave

Connor picks up her jacket. "I can help. I'll escort you!"

"No I.. I need to ..." She grabs her jacket "Look, just leave me alone I need my meds" And she stomps towards the principals office

"Oh." he watches, then calls after her, "I'll seee yooouuu tomorrooooooooow!"

A threat!

No, a promise!

Lily arches a brow "Why is she going to the office if she needs meds? Shouldn't she go to the school nurse?"

"No one ever lies if they're uncomfortable." He suggests, but sounds unsure. "Maybe she's allergic to chalk?"

"Oh no" Layne says "You think she is?"

"No, she was enjoying it" Cleo observes "She was actually liking us. Espcially Connor"

"Who doesn't like Connor?" Jack says "Only jerks don't like Connor"

"Aww, no one likes me."

Otto gives Connor a hug "We probably should respect Jodie's privacy and totally NOT spy on her"

"I would NEVER."

"Amateurs" Lily sighs and goes after Jodie

Of course, Connor can follow. She might need back pup.. err back up

He does not. Sometimes Girls want privacy.

They go back to chalk drawing, and about 8 minutes into the recess, Lily returns looking.. deeply disturbed. Which for a sluagh is rare

Lane sees she's upset "What, did you catch her hugging a teddy bear and calling it cuddles?"

"no" Lily admits "I saw her take her pills And go... gray. Not the healthy gray of gloom and poetic misery, but a kind of empty gray"

Otto gives a kind of canine whimper

Connor looks deeply contemplative. "Well, we should go home."

"Uhm, I think that's against school rules" Jack says

"You mean they will keep us here forever?!"
