Cleo's brow knits "Come on, we have to watch singing secrets too loud." A whisper "Right of ignorance. We..maybe we can help Jodie later?"

"Definitely no one at home who could help."

Connor nods.

"The sun will come out tomorrow?"

"Sadly, yes" Lily nods "yes it will" And into the class you go

Jodie seems sluggish and uncaring again.

She goes through the motions of class and does assignments.

Connor glances over at her from time to time, thoughtfully.

The spark of her earlier creatiivity is numbed, like trying to cover a scent with Febreze. Sure, folks THINK it smells better but it stings the nostrils...

and..hey, what's that? Under the gray haze is a ..blink blink blink faint light ,like a toy on low battery power

He sneezes.

Jodie looks at him as if were.. just annoyying

He rubs at his nose and inches a bit further away. He doesn't mean to, but the greyness is a bit frightening.

Then, he gets an idea, and raises his hand.

"YES, Connor?" his teacher has that cautious look

He sneezes again, and rubs at his nose miserably. "I don't feel good. Can I go to the nurse?"

She moves forward and looks at his nose and face "Were you feeling bad before?"

Otto, ever the wing man nods "I think he has the Corvid. He coughed up a black feather on the playground"

"Okay okay.. " SHe signs a note "here go to the nurse"

He holds the note tight like a talisman and trots off down the hallway.

And down the hallway he goes. Oh there's the nurses office he's SUPPOSED to go to. There's the principal's office and there's this door thing that leads out.

He heads to the principals office.

The principal doesn't seem to be in his office. But he can go in , of course.

He does!

It takes a bit, but he finds a under the prinipal's desk a box that says 'medication for Jodie Darling. Keep locked'. It's not locked

He searches a pocket. He often has candy....

Skittles, maybe sweet tarts, whatver was close to expiration at his 'Job'.

That he does. He knows a guy

He tips the pills into a pocket, and replaces them with the candy. A quick shake-shake-shake, using the rattling bottle like a maraca, and he Fuddles it to look like the terrible tablets.

And so the magic goes

One would think pills that make kids grey would be banal, but sometimes Banal is as Banal does, and how it's used is what makes it kill joy and fun and the urge to blow bubbles in your milk

Then, he carefully closes the box, closes the drawer, steps outside, and closes the door.

So the cantrip works fine
