Frank nods and heads off; he wants to get her a cheap cellphone with prepaid minutes.

The shopping for that goes pretty smoothly. The guy who sels it doesn't try get him to get anything fancier or the like. Not like he gets a commision after all

With that done, all there is to do is wait for Anne Marie to call back, and maybe figure out how to convince Bunni to come in out of the summer heat.

Well she's inside hopefully cooler in there

Frank will find a coffee shop or somewhere to wait.

"Mister King?" A voice at the coffee shop. Basil the satyr. He sounds surprised. Looks like he works at this place "I thought you got all your coffee at home or on the road"

"Truth to tell, I just need a place to wait in the area. Good work finding that thing, by the way. The carving."

"Hey, happy to help. Anything ever come from that?"

"We're still in the process of figuring it out but... yes, I think so."

"Hope it goes well. Can I get you anything else besides the coffee?"

"Actually, could I get a lemonade instead of the coffee?"

"You go it" he says "We've got a really good lemonade actually" and he gets a nice tall glass

"Thanks. Want you to know, I let the Chief know about the part you played finding those items."

"Oh ? What did she say?"

"She was grateful as well."

"Cool. I like the Chief, she's sparred with me, wanted to learn how to counter spears. Frankly I don't think she needs the lessons but i'm learning al lot"

Frank nods "Next time, if you're interested, I could go over non-edged weapons with you.

"Appreciate it, man, thanks." Then Frank's phone rings "Ah, I think that's for you and i gotta get back to work. "

"Hello?"

"Frank, it's me" Anne Marie says "I've found a spot for the young lady."

"Now I owe -you-." Frank says with some relief. "How do we do this? Should I bring her there?"

"Well, that's what I was going to ask. How receptive do you think she'll be to me, or to the idea?"

"She turned down the offer for a shelter flat, but you said this was a room somewhere?"

"Yes , not a homeless shelter.'

"We're trying to keep the circle limited right now, Anne Marie, and if feels wrong because you went out of your way here. Would you mind givingi me a little more rope to hang myself?"

"I'm sorry? Pardon me Frank it's been a long day. Give you more rope to hang yourself how?"

"I don't want to put you out any further. Let me go see her, and can I put your number in her phone? I'll see if I can get her to call you, let me take her to this new place."

"Well, all right. Sure. You're not one to abuse my contact info"

"Thank you. I'll call back as soon as I can." Frank gets up and heads to the factory, waving to Basil as he goes. He saves his number, and Anne Marie's in Bunni's new phone.

Basil waves back, and off Frank goes

He'll approach carefully, but not trying to hide, and calls out "Bunni? It's Frank. I have that phone I promised."

Frank sees he's drawn attention, but not the sort he hoped to. Some street toughs look around drawn by the sound of someone calling out.

About three guys, two youths, one grizzled adult

Frank nods to them, acknowledging them. No sign of Bunni? Frank figures she hid herself when she realized they were here.

No sign of bunni. They look Frank over. Seeing what he caries. If he looks rich. That kind of thing

His hands are empty and he certainly doesn't look wealthy.

He DOES look tall.. and muscled. The three grunt and walk off, perhaps to look for easier folks to intimidate

If they're not looking for trouble neither is he; he -is- looking for Bunni but that might wait till they clear off.

They clear off, and Bunni appears "Frank, are you okay?"

"Just fine, thank you. I'm a big guy, they didn't want trouble from me. Here." He offers the phone. "My number is in it, as is the number of a friend of mine. She's a social worker, and she's found a room for you. Will you consider it? It's not a shelter."

She comes int oreach and takes the phone then frowns "I am still not sure why you're doing all this. That boy, Connor. He said Adam. "

A jumble of subjects mixing. Her frown born more of confusion

Frank rubs high up on his forehead. "Connor can be confusing; not his fault. He's a good kid."

"I guess but it stired .. I don't know. I felt anxious, worried. I still do" She takes the phone "I don't know about this Social Worker. I mean, I get by. I got a place all to myself"

"Until those three guys find you." Frank points out.

"Oh" She says then looks worried "I bet I'm smarter than them"

"I bet you are too, but why take the chance?"
