The concert has the trio excited. Jonas even agreed it was only fair that if the ladies dressed up extra nice for him, he would wear what they liked in turn... though he insisted on a shirt.. and pants

The crowds are mixed, and some folks are annoyed as they realize the band is NEW... they thought they were going to see the Foo Fighters, but it says right on the ticket it is the FU-Fighters

But they've bought their tickets, and a lot of folks had the sense to suss it out

Piper is just glad to be out and about, and she rolls her eyes at the complaining. "You really think Dave Grohl would be playing a dinky venue like this? I mean, it's a perfectly FINE, but... Foo Fighters are BIG, and they sell out shows at major venues..." She had an idea already that it was probably a cover band.

"It does seem simply reading the poster in detail or checking the website would have sufficed" Jonas agrees

With two trolls pushing through, Piper has a tunnel in the crowd made for her, Siv leading "I want to get a good seat"

"Is there a pit? I wanna mosh!"

There is in fact a pit! Jonas sighs but does not fuss.

It gets tighter already, but Piper knows how to move through this stuff like some swimmers know water! The OPENING ACT is about to come on

She squirms to make her way over to the pit - she may be small, but generally most pits are very good natured - as well as might be expected for masses of bodies jumpin' and bumpin' and shovin'.

Indeed, there's a code of conduct that most folks don't get, and if you do get knocked down a hole opens to give you space and often the one who caused it is the first to offer a hand up but most get the groove and routine fast. Heck, Piper herself has helped shy folks get into it

The role of PIT GIRL is not one for the faint hearted!

The Owner of the place calls out on the mic "LEt's get to this... ready to open things with.." he gestures to the curtains that part "Muggleborn!"

A blink, and she looks up at the stage. That's an interesting name!

The opening band has dressed in something that looks like a cross between English boarding school student uniforms, and big hair metal outfits or Punk rock alternatively between them.

And before anyone can laugh one yells "Wands out!" And they present their instruments and play!

She squints, do they look like Fae? Curious!

The music is pretty intense, no pop here, but all the better for Moshing. Our Satyress takes a peek for glamour... and ... there's a kind of glow off them, not quite glamour

The song is fast, furious and.. playful and unrepetant, talking about the dificulties going from a child to a teenager creates... the trauma , not the youth's trauma, the trauma of the monster under the bed! For teens explore their bodies, and the monster hears every damn squeak of bed springs, every gasp of breath! One repeated line (Not overly so) is "Sorry, Monster, I have needs!"

And Muggleborn is good! They only get one song, but they're selling it

The lyrics are sympathetic to the poor monster under the bed, comedic and one can feel for the poor thing

Of course, as changelings actually HAVE monsters under the bed so that may just be more curious

Not quite glamour? Huh! She tries to maneuver closer to the stage to Ken

The band has 3 guys, two women, ... fit and young, not a one of them at their mid twenties yet she'd guess. More than one of them takes lead on the song.. not bad! Talented voices mixed in with energetic instrumentalsm.

Kenning definitely senses something, and she notices one guy with a guitar who moves about a lot lock eyes with her, and surprise registers... he almost ALMOST loses his spot but either he doesn't or the others cover for him and then he's back in the game.

She slips back a bit into the crowd, not wanting to affect the performance. Professional courtesy!

She tries to read their mood AND Ken, but at the worst possible moment she gets steps wrong and trips into some folks in the pit

Wham.. a bump BOOM a bounce and suddenly Piper is like brainy pinball who is winning the game she's trapped in! She inspires others in the pit to up their mosh game! Legends will be told of this night .. the legend of the Pit Queen!

Why even Jonas and Siv are in it! At first Jonas was worried but now he's getting into it!

There's an art to it, bouncing off backs and sides and arms without hitting heads or soft spots, keeping elbows tucked just so...

Though, she is fully distracted from the band for a time.

But of course, that was just the opening band.. and the Muggleborn seem to almost VANISH from stage ... but it's PROBABLY just the fog machine

People RAVE (No pun intended)

And Siv goes 'They were GOOD"

"Yeah! The Harry Potter thing is a little 2000's, I'm surprised the crowd was that into it... but good tunes are good tunes!"

"I don't they were into it, until they started playing.." Jonas observes "The band was quick to move to the music"

Speaking of bands, the main one is being announced "Say hello to the FU FIGHTERS!"

"There was something about them..." Piper starts, then turns to cheer as the band comes out.

The band consists mostly of Asian Americans, and the do the mandatory cover or two, but they also have their own songs. They mix a lot of instruments of South East Asia in there. And one girl can do Mongolian throat singing, which if you're a fan of the Hu is a bonus!

As good as they are, and they are good, the Muggleborn clearly edged them out

Piper bops along, but has to comment, "It's odd that the opening act outshines the headliner."

Siv nods 'maybe they weren't expected to be that good?"

"Well, they are!"
