Piper can't believe the summer is leaving so quickly, at least, what they call summer here...

A shiver - Siv was enjoying the 'breeze' earlier, but Piper knows what it is, the first Harbinger of winter snows.

Then again.. Pumpkin Spice and sweaters isn't THAT bad...

Especially if she can get one of the trolls to share a sweater, as in let her climb in while one is wearing it

Lovely thoughts.... Jonas boosting her up to reach a tree while apple picking, cuddling under a blanket, ...Siv in a sweater...

But for now, she's got to make it to the Marina.. it's on the Edge of the barony but it IS in the barony

A sigh... for now she can easily trot wherever she wants! Once winter comes, she'll need to start shelling out for rides. Cars are expensive...

THe good news is, the promise of cold isn't the banal kind of cold. Sure, there's a slightly stuffy aspect to the money needed to come here...but it's not too bad. She's seen golf courses that had their noses more in a snit.

She trots up and down the dock, checking out the building and the layout before approaching. Not going to chance putting HER Troll lady in another bad situation, no sir!

A jet ski shoots by, spraying up a bit of water, but that's fine. Looks fun actually

and she sees a family getting into a boat for four... something a bit more sedate

And she hears a voice "I won't do it! I quit, you hear me? I furking quit!"

Another voice going "Shhhhh shhh"

Now THAT is intriguing, and she sidles closer, pretending to be looking at her phone.

There's a gate that says 'employees only', not particularly latched, a wooden construct.

the 'gate door' is not that tall, Jonas could look OVER It if he tip toed

Piper? Well damn it, she has to peek through the spaces in the wood

A nocker appears to be beating up an engine to a boat, while a piskie, in a well dressed suit, tries to calm him. Both fellows, look to be either older wilders or younger grumps

She considers for a moment, then slips the latch and steps in. "How's it going?" She asks, friendly as ever.

"Ah, employees only please..." The Piskie says smoothly then stops and realizes "Oh.. well, this is a nice surprise"

"I'm pretty sure our fellow changelings are supposed to read too" The nocker snorts

"Sorry to interrupt, I'll get out of your hair. I just overheard conversation, and I was curious to see if the Marina was hiring..."

"Hiring? OH Good luck there... " Suddenly the nocker explodes "Don't worry about it, like car engines he said, like a vehicle is a vehicle.. .but he didn't tell me I'd be doing the work of three people..."

"Standing right here... Klug" The Piskie sighs

"ON engines I'm not taht furking good at... and yes Randal, you're standing there... I need another mechanic"

"We can't afford another mechanic..." Randal says calmly

Piper wracks her memory bank. Does Siv have any talent in that area? Sure, her dad is a trucker, and seems really handy all-around, but her Clipper is a sailboat, not a motorboat. Has she ever seen Siv working on anything like that?

Well, she knows Siv has helped her dad with engine repair, though that was a rig

"I might know someone who can help out. She's a deft hand at engine repair, and looking for new work. Smart as a tack, fearless, and familiar with sailboats - she runs her own Clipper, in fact. Anything you might have around she could help with?"

"Is she licensed?" Klug asks dubiously

"I hope not, I can't afford a licensed mechanic" Randal says "If you want help, it better be a talented rookie"

Piper is tempted to lie, but shakes her head after only a moment. "I bet she could study for the license though - I mean, maybe that could be part of the pay, if you're short on payroll. She helps you, you train her?"

"I don't know..." Randal says

"Do it." Klug replies

"I mean, I have to have her listed as doing a job of some sort and 'apprentice' isn't a position..." Randal starts to explain

"Do it do it do it" Klug chants

Piper steps a few paces forward, and gives a winning smile. She's cute, maybe that will help. "The least you can do is meet her, maybe. You can always say no... and you know, even listed on the books as a janitor won't offend her. She's not afraid of hard work, my Siv."

"AND... if something goes wrongk, the insurance requirements..." Randal frowns "It coudl really...."

"Boat scrubber... sail folder... barnacle scraper..."

"Randal, at least TALK to the furking girl so I can get some help or so help me, I Won't sleep with you for a week!!" Klug yells a bit loudly

Piper hides a giggle! Okay, her feminine charm won't help here. But maybe friendly still will.

Randal sighs, straightens his tie, "Pardon... didn't mean to bring our personal lives into this." A glance to Klug "Seriously, you're playing that card?"

"AND She's strong. True-Blue. Bet you wouldn't even need a Jack, she can lift any engine block without breaking a sweat..."

"Randal, I never thought I'd say this, but I need you to get me that girl" Klug declares

"Way to play hard to get, Klug" Randal looks at his partner (Husband? No rings, but then, one is a working mechanic)

"You didn't complain about the direct approach when we met..." Klug reminds, then says to Piper "We're gay. Is that gonna be a problem for your siv?"

"No sir. My girlfriend and I are pretty open minded, so's our boyfriend." A thumbs up.

"Oh now that's just WEIRD..." Klug mutters

"Polyphobia's still hate, Klug dear..." Randal tuts then says 'Forgive him., please. It's just not his thing"

A laugh! "I don't yuck anyone's yum. What's good for the goose isn't always for the gander. And this goose likes her geese and ganders, but I don't shove it in anyone's face. But to answer the question, no, no problem with you gents and whatever you chose to do on your own time."
