"Sam.. you seem taller" Dr. Lee says looking out. He is as dead pan as a troll. THe glow of enchantment about him, "Sam. I will be staying here. There are rules, are there not? If I go to this place of power, I risk your secrecy. I will be fine here. "

Brow furrow and a nod.

"You mind if I send one of my parents over?"

"If you wish. But I am going to be too busy to protect a large crowd" Dr. Lee says again deadpan

"Geezus Doc, get your head away from open windowws and doors" Dirk grinds his teeth in frustration

"Fair. I'll send Dad."

"As you wish, Sam." A nod "And thank you, my wife and children's safety means everything to me"

Dirk blushes as the man who is NOT his bio dad puts a hand on his shoulder reassuring in a dignified way

"We're all gonna help protect you."

Doctor Lee says "Very kind. I am not helpless. But I thank you. "

"Tell my wife I am fine, please." He adds

"I get you aren't helpless. But nobody wants Anne Marie to worry."

"Tell her I have a son and Jonas here . I'm fine." The Doctor says "Thank you again. Now forgive me, my being near the door is making Dirk nervous." A pause "Make sure Symon is well, please. "

"Course I will. Symon's my friend."

"He says the same about you- In his way" And the man walks back away from the door

And Dag heads back towards the lodge.

That poor Jehovah Witness... He'll live, once Dirk realizes he's not an assassin
