Until his friends yank him off the stage slapping his back saying things like "See, dude, you're GOOD. We TOLD you ... " "TOLD you"

and Finkle just blushes and grins

"I hope he gets somebody to coach him. He should be singing a LOT."

Jonas says "I thought they were setting him up for humliation. Glad they're true friends"

Colton agrees with Sylvi

Piper grins up at Jonas.

Siv snerks "I .. I gotta share that with the gang at Earth Runes"

And torin shakes his head "Lucky me, I get to be next"

And he is announced

"Torin Torad, Skald of Rivervale Barony"

Siv asks Piper "Did you memorize the song? you heard it once and you got it right?" Pester pester

She laughs! “I got the tune and I can look up the lyrics!”

"Grand grand"

Siv has to fight the urge to ask more, as Torin is getting up to perform

Piper cheers for Torrin! A whisper to Siv, “is it cheating if we have more contestants than other areas? Seems like we’re stacking the deck. Not that any of us couldn’t pants any other barony.” Showing river vale pride.

"oh don't worry, there's like three from the Count's hold, two from Unicorn's Eye, and.. mm yeah, every fief has a tleast two official or not, some 3..." A pause "your competition is stiffer this year

She grins. “The stiffer it is, the more fun we can have....”

Jonas groans "really, ladies? Really?"

Siv laughs mercilously but bumps her head against his free shoulder

Innocent blink! “I just meant that without competition, where’s the challenge?”

SUSPICIOUS look from Jonas

Such innocence. So sweet. Her curls are practically a halo.

Siv takes notes

Torin's choice of song, at least the start of it, proves to be fitting for today's difficulties in song and while he knows folk, he puts some soul into it "What would you do if I sang out of tune?

And he does his own take of "I get by with a little help from my friends" Singing solo, some adjustments are made...asking the questions to himself as if musing intimately an aging middle aged man struggling to draw strength from those around him

And soon others are joining in on the chorus

Piper takes Siv and Jonas’s hands in each of her own and sings along, heartfelt but quietly to make sure Toruń is still heard.

He seems to encourage joining in , guiding their participation volume with hand gestures of pick it up, bring it down. Others may have bettere voices, but his years as a skald, a story teller, and worker around the fire have made him a master of crowd working

and when the song ends everyone applauds.

Spencer mutters "Damn. I am not beating my teacher this time" But he smiles

Sylvi applauds happily at the end and gives Colton a hug. "I like that one. And I like the way he sings it."

Colton smiles "He's really caught up on all the songs it seems in record time. And.. yet, we are not his biggest fans"

Jackflap charges Torin's legs "Dad!!"

and gets picked up and lifted in the air

Sylvi squeezes Colton's hand happily.

Tove is returned, dressed ina replacement blouse, not as fancy as her previous garb that got soaked, but she's telling DAGMAR "i'm fine. Do NOT threaten the rooster if you see him. O'Dale may have learned his lesson"

Grunt!

Sylvi goes to Tove as she approaches. "I'm sorry you missed Torin. He did a great job. So that boggan isn't your only competition, anymore!" A gentle nudge.

"No sass now" She speaks Grunt, then when Sylvi comes over to fill her in"Oh well, I'm still going to try to win" She winks "But nice if we can keep it in the family" a low mutter "So weird having a little brother satyr" A chuckle

A laugh. "I'll bet!"

Grunt. A nod.

Tove gives her daughter a one armed hug

As the next contestant is not her, but a ....sluagh?

"Sourmouth Suzette, from Unicorn's Eye, who will ah Sing to us in Concordian Sign language" The announcer says
