“I figured they have hay bales on the farm a plenty, maybe we can pepper ‘em with some arrows for fun.”

"Yeah, and he got hurt" Lucia leads off with that part. "Sally mae got really upset"

“He got shot?!”

"What? Is he gonna be okay?"

Aghast! The Liam Sidhe was not her favorite, but... damn!

"Oh yeah" And Lucia tells the story of how it went wrong.. (See past lurkage) "And the wind picked up like at the WORST Times for almost everyone ..."

“Ohhhh. I thought someone shot him....” blushing a bit after jumping to conclusions. “But that’s good, at least it was just an accident. Strings break, right?”

"Except his was tested. Some folks think it was sabatogue, or that the archery field is under a hex. They're looking into it" Lucia say

“Not everyone likes Liam’s.” She says, discomforted. “But he could have lost an eye if that snapped wrong. Do you think it was house motivated? Or maybe someone just knew he was good... they checked the other equipment, right?”

Dag frowns. "Surely, they wouldn't do that under Count Hemlock."

"Well, the crowds this year were too big to protocal.. and the archery isn't always given as much attention" Siv ponders then scowls "if this is a Liam thing I best check and tell dad"

And she reddens. “Maybe is not. I’m sorry, I... my mind just went there first. I’m sure they’re better than this and it’s something else.”

"No no," Siv takes Piper's hand "it's better to hope for the best but prepare for the worst"

“Coincidence, or bad luck, maybe. Sometimes things just happen.” She squeezes the hand.

Lucia says "Well, all I know is the boggan gossip network is going bonkers this pennons. Kerri thighs being sold by a jackal pooka under false pretenses ... archery curses. Trolls made of rock. "

"I mean, yeah - there could be, like, a bad luck chimera..."

"Lovecraft is not normally this bad" Jonas says

"Symon's cat? Does she have the power?" Luca asks

"I don't know. I don't think so?"

"Mmm no, I don't think so either. Symon's sly, sneaky, but he'd be more selective and urge her to be the same. Still, maybe he knows something about hex chimera ? "

"We don't even know if it IS a chimera. A foul fortune can do much the same" Jonas points out

“Why would Symon be mad at a Carowyn?” Baffled. “Or if his cat can hex things on its own... maybe it should be kept on a leash.”

Oh dear. She’s never had a cat.

Siv laughs "You don't.. ah.. PIper I have to introduce you to Mackerel MY cat. She's relatively easy going for a cat and still you'd never leash her"

"I don't think Lovecraft did this. She'd just want chicken."

"OH.. that explains the dead crows" Lucia says

Blink blink. “Lucia, what do you think? And I’m asking as a relative newbie here. Would the folk investigating this take it seriously? In case it WAS something intentional? Or should we take another look ourselves?” A small frown. “I mean, he IS one of us.”

Siv looks at PIper PROUDLY

Lucia says "If we were ordinary kids I'd say trust the authorities to knnow their stuff. They have magic, they have manpower. But.. uhm we are wilders. If one or more of us wants to look into it, why not?"

"True..."

“Do we have time before the next event? I’m free except for the dancing. Maybe we can look for witnesses, ask about anyone hanging around, see who the winner was?”

"Sounds like a sensible way to pass the time between events" Jonas says

Lucia says "YES.. wilder action. I like the farm school fine but I'm going stir crazy "

Siv grins "let's spread the word to other wilders we trust and snoop around. See you all later?"

It is agreed, and splitting into solo groups, or small sets, the wilder girls (and guy, hiya Jonas) break off to chase a mystery! Jinkies!
