"You're saying I'm possessed?" The satyress says

Gerd says "Not exactly... more like there's magic inside of you, an ancient fae spirit sharing your mortal soul. It's as much YOU as the you you were"

"Yeah. Like an Arnold Palmer. Fifty-fifty."

"You were born with it, but the satyr part sleeps until something sets it off."

"Probably had some crazy-ass dreams leading up to it..."

"Where were you in May when... well, berfore things got weird?" gerd asks, following Dagmar's comment about something set it off

"Crashing a party... some stuff was being passed around..was only supposed to tweak for a bit... I figured, hey one time... and ..then I never came down" the girl says

"Oh, yeah. That can do it." She sits down on the paving stones, bringing her head closer to level. "Getting wound up about anything, really, but drugs can do a number. Okay, so. No, this is not an extended acid trip."

"That explains a lot on why you just figured it was a freak though. I guess we do seem like some weird LSD creation" Gerd nods

"Yeah. But hey - you got cool wings! Most of us don't!"

"Cool wings? I nearly died because of these stupid things... some frosty bitch looked up and .. they stopped working" The Satyr says then she admits "it didn't stop me from using them again. I think I'm getting good with them."

"Lucia's gonna be jelly" Gerd agrees with Dagmar "Her's don't work"

"Oh yeah.. stuff that's too... um.. magic? That won't work when muggles can see you."

"Flying is dangerous, since you're up in the air. I'm not as strong in front of mortal eyes."

"Yeah, learned that" She shows some asaphalt marks on an elbow

"Ouch."

"So, okay... I know, you have no reason to trust us. But we really do mean well, and there's gonna be some who don't. You want a hot bath and a real meal and some answers? We can hook you up."

"No offense, but last time I trusted someone they told me the drug only lasted a little while and it would be fine" Wryly "Could you at least FAKE a reason?"

Gerd looks amused at that

"Well, sure. I was almost you, and I don't want to see that be you. The people here helped me, kept me from getting destroyed by this new world, and gave me a home. I got debt."

Gerd raises a brow at THAT, but says "We all help each o ther. Think of this way, IF you're crazy, we're as crazy as you, so we got just as much reason to avoid folks in long white coats who want to put us in funny jackets. But, well you're not...so trust us because what she said"

"I guess..." She swallows and moves over, on her feet to them, as she does she looks up, and up "Christ you're both tall"

"Yeah. Ice-giants, kinda."

"Thor after you guys?" Dubious satyr

"Thor's my favorite."

"Like, I always wanted to be a superhero."

"Yup. And depending on which stories you go by, it's possible some Gods of old WERE trolls.. or satyrs or whatever" Gerd says "But we're not what we were... which is why we need folks more than ever."

"The world doesn't much believe in magic, and for all that I can pick up a car... I'm about as vulnerable as Tinkerbelle to banality."

"Um - disbelief. Every petty, apathetic evil of the world that doesn't give a shit, that doesn't care, or empathize."

"Also, fucking Karens."

"Yeah.." The Satyr snorts "Didn't like the fucking Karens BEFORE this"

"Yep, so - that's the type that can hurt you. You wanna meet another satyr? We could see if Piper's home, she's.. uh.. 404? So up high."

"I wonder if I stomped on her roof?" The satyress says

"I can see why you crashed her... shit, wait until you see the lodge, though."

"Come on" Gerd says

And heads towards the door.

The satyress looks confused "Come on where?"

"Gerd, get the food!"

"Come on and meet Piper. She's a satyr, so more like you. Goat-toes."

"I mean, where's the door down here?" She says looking right at it but ..nto seeing it?

Gerd says "You don't see the door? It's right here." She taps it.

The winged woman looks suspicious "I don't see jackshit" True.

"Hunh."

"Gerd, open the door?"

There's glamour on the door. Some magic on that.. yeah, veiling.

"Ah. It was hidden. Probably as security?"

"Okay.. wow.. it's like there's a stairway with no protection now" The staytress says

"Maybe because we came up from inside?"
