It takes Piper a moment to realize where she is when she wakes up to sunlight beaming into her eyes from the balcony window, without any shades or curtains yet up. She sits up in bed, smoothing the blanket that was lent by Aunt Marsha. Maybe the moms will send me my quilt? The young satyr ponders.

Leaving home had been an abrupt affair with a duffel bag and not much else planned. I wonder if my room is still set up, or if they've boxed everything away when I was gone. For some reason, this gives her a little pang of sadness to contemplate. Looking around the room, her eyes fall on the bright splash of gold on the wall - the art from Siv, and she can't help but smile. No, I think I'll be alright here after all.

Getting up, she revels for a few minutes in walking around the space in her pajamas, with no one else to see. Contemplation of the kitchen and bathroom - a couple borrowed towels in the latter, and disposable utensils in the former, and Piper makes a plan to check out garage sales, or a resale shop, if she can find one still open. I don't need much, a couple plates, glasses and coffee mugs. I don't know if I should even bother with cookware - who's gonna come cook for me here? The microwave is safer. Oh, I do need a kettle though. A small frown, and she settles with microwaving a cup of water to add a tea-bag to one of the odd items she did have, a coffee mug that was a Christmas present - ocean blue with a wave pattern.

I wonder if I have room to add a troll-sized chair. Eyeing the space. The tiny desk against the wall is useful - and the Owl chair isn't going anywhere. Maybe I'll just get an extra-deep loveseat or an oversized armchair for that nook opposite the bed. After my next gig, maybe.

Stepping out to the balcony - scarcely one, just enough room to be outside and turn around or sit down, really - she sips the tea and looks over her view. Listening to the morning birdsong, perhaps traffic echoes - it might be a nice place to sit out and play some music. I should check to see if the complex has quiet hours. And meet this Cesar fellow... Well, it's day one. not so bad.
