"If you insist, but honest I came from Cali with a dufflebag and a music case, so I haven't had a chance to really accumulate a lot more. But I DO appreciate company to check on some of those GregsList postings, some of them seem a good deal but maybe I'll run into some sort of 'Silence of the Lambs' setup by mistake and trade my kidneys for an IKEA dresser with a name like a cat throwing up."

Tove inquires "Are you okay with wooden furniture, Piper?"

"Well, sure, but I got some cash from the contest, so I figured I could find stuff. You're already like a mom-away-from-mom, as it is, and I don't want to impose. " She says, honestly!

"I sell wood products online, and sometimes people cancel.." she says "or I make a mistake and the job isn't up to snuff"

"If you made it to order and they cancel, they should still pay for it!" She looks affronted at the idea of Tove getting stiffed.

"Somethings aren't worth the fuss... in this case, I made the mstake taking an order over the phone.. and I swear to this day I heard OWL design. What they claimed they said was COW Design. It's too short for trolls to sit on.. but... oh hold on a second. And I won't GIVE it to you, but I will sell it to you at half what I was hoping to sell how's that?"

She grins. "If you'll let me do layaway if I don't have the full amount, we have a deal. And for a tip I can share the songs you missed at the contest..."

"Oh you're sly" She departs and then comes back in "I really don't know how comfortable it is to sit on for a ..not troll. But with a pillow..."

"If you don't like it , it's okay" She says

"Dude, that thing is cool..."

"I know right. but they wanted cows" A sigh "I ..like cows but..."

A laugh. "I love it! It's funny that of all birds, it's one that doesn't sing - but oh, this is beautiful. To be honest, I'm not sure I can afford even half price, if you're charging as much as you should. Not trying to barter you down, just honestly - that's too fancy for what I could pay for."

She taps a foot, doing some mental math. "No, the more I see it, the more I gotta have it. That's like, a focal point, it would... see how wide the seat is? I could put it in the window and have room to sit with my guitar... Okay, it's a deal."

"how about you get a hundred dollars to me somehow within a month, and the rest will be on a rent to own, only not a terrible scam with interest?"

She smiles pleased and looks to Dagmar "I based a lot of it watching Solstice. Though he was a stubborn model"

"That I can do! I got my cash from the contest, and that will leave me with a bit extra for other necessities." And she gives Tove an impulsive hug. "You gotta be careful here, or I'm gonna start callin' you Momma T and Basil will have another new Auntie." A laugh, she's kidding, but the gratitude is real.

"Solstice is a very proud bird."

A hug back "You'll have to get a written note of approval from Dagmar on that." a smile though "I'm really glad you like it."

"Do you think I could get a hand from Mr. King to drop it off at the apartments when he has a chance? No rush."

"I'll be happy to have him do it after work. He's got a pick up truck for a reason" Then a thought "do you need a pickup truck use?"

"I was looking at a used dresser and a little bistro table and chair set I saw for cheap. That with this chair should have me set up nice and tidy - it's just a studio, and it has a murphy bed already."

"Way faster with a truck than a car."

"So a pickup WOULD be much easier. Otherwise... pieces and trips and who knows if I could reassemble?" Grin.

"Oh a murphy bed, ,so I CAN bum there" Basil jokes

"You know, you might want to talk to Myttle Anne too. She's setting up her own self, and might know some furniture options that don't work for her that work for you" Tove says

"Symon's mom? She's moving out?" Her jaw drops.

"No, sorry. Ann Marie. I don't think I know Myrtle Anne..."

"SHe' dating my dad but she seems sweet"

"Hey, he's not old dry bones yet - sometimes a new spark does wonders for even a young grump like him. And I haven't even scratched the surface of his musical knowledge, so I'm in favor."

"Right? Boggan conflation... A-M-M-A."

A nod and grin to Dagmar. "I'm too blond for this."

"Ha. So with you blonde jokes are okay?" Basil says

"Only if I'm making them." A grin, then she adds, "Or if I really did something ditzy enough to deserve it, but it better be a WHOPPER."

"Noted" he says

"I mean, with those horns, Basil's sort of blonde..."

a sly grin over to him. "Ah sweetie, at least you're pretty though?"

"Hey what now?": he touches his horns

Tove fights a smile but does say "Thou art most passing 'fair' of horn"

Looking at a mirror, the satyr gets the first look at his horns beyond feeling them "Oh man! You are kidding me."

"What? They're golden. Match the armor."

"Goldilocks!"

"I got conflicted feelings about this" Basil says..then Piper hits him with the nickname "Oh that's not going away is it?"

A wide grin.

"Keep an eye out for bears..."

"Zane's gonna run with this like a bee on honey" Basil says, then looks at the mirror
