Then to Dagmar, "That remains to be seen. I will stay and wait to speak with Count Hemlock. The Mountain is at the Lodge with Siv and Vali. We still must hear from Rover Olgar."

"He'll make it home."

"Fate Lady said so."

"Yes, that was one of the boons"

"Sylvi is a loyal daughter" approvingly

"Sylvi made that request? Then...good." A slight burden eased.

"And the Balor was, like, eaten by his own army."

"He deserved it," Nadeen says cold as ice.

Her eyes light at that. "He was?" Oh, she seems almost eager to hear about that part in detail.

"Yeah! He was all evil-villain 'noooooooo' about it, too"

Nadeen says "i.. might have used a mix of diplomacy and a bit of dictum hidden in it to ..suggest that as their masters would hate failure, they might be more forgiving if their 'leader' of the failure took the blame, and that dead officers cannot protest the word of their troops."

"That...is ruthless and clever." Brekke doesn't want to sound like she admires the tactic too much.

She lifts her chin "Thank you. I would do it again if I had the chance."

"Understood."

A nod

"Everything in place for Christmas." Satisfied.

"And Siv's birthday which no one admits knowing about but everyone does" A flicker of amusement in the sidhe's eyes

"OH yes."

Brekke gives Nadeen another eyebrow. "That...is for tomorrow. Excuse me, please. And...thank you." A bow to both of the girls before she goes to ask for audience with the Count.

And one will be granted, of course.

Nadeen watches her go, then says to Dagmar "I didn't mean to upset her, do you think I did, with that talk of Siv? I meant it as a tease not a cruelty"

"She's still processing everything, she's not mad. When she's mad her jaw twitches."

"It does, doesn't it?" Nadeen says thinking on it

"She'll be good. Once she sees how everything is, and Olgar is back."

"If I do get a hold, I shall set up a station for the Rovers at it. Useful folk, those knights of the way"

"That'd be cool."

"What kind of hold would you want? Like, a big library, or artist colony or war college?"

"Oh, I was thinking of a castle with maybe a mix... but whatever it is, It will be very Slavic with a name fifteen syllables long yet somehow the nickname will still be 'Misha'" her eyes flicker with amusement

Dagmar snerks.

"And snow. It needs snow."

"I shall shake it frequently to make sure it comes about" Somberness to the exxxxtreme

Another snort-laugh.

"We could put the whole hold in a bottle and I could guard it."

"Ah, but then you get thirsty and we all drown in mountain dew"

"Dr Pepper, thank you."

"A dark and bubbly doom upon my hold nonetheless" A smile

"But i will keep the larders will stocked with Dr. Pepper"

"Muahaha. Mine is an evil laugh."

"Curse your sudden but inevitable trollishness" A wink

"Okay, so a big winter castle..."

"Chimerical reindeer."

"White wolves with ice blue eyes"

"I wonder if the winged wolves would want refuge..."

"I think wht the dragon gone, they feel safe here, but then, in five years, the pups might want new territory to spread to? Who knows" A more seriious tone "I don't want to rob rivervale of any wonders it's.. well, it's grown on me"

"Well, maybe the new hold could partner with Rivervale."

"Perhaps. " Hopeful look "Five years is a long time away, but I certainly would like visitors, maybe even frequent visitors" She takes the bigger girl's hand

"Five years is good time to plan."
