"How are you, Sylvi?" She shifts her weight a bit and rubs the back of her neck with her free hand.

Sylvi watches Adam and Dagmar, frowning a bit. "Well..." A glance to Nadeen. "I was doing great, but Nadeen's being ridiculous." A frown. "Sorry, Nadeen, but it's just annoying." She seems frustrated that she can't find a solution.

Brow-furrow. "What? What's happening?"

"She's going to use her saining boon to ask for a dowry!" Like the idea is outrageous.

A glare at Sylvi

"Well, you are!"

"Hey, if that's what you want to do, fine. But there's got to be other ways to get the power and position and stuff."

"It's nothing to worry about, Dagmar. I'm getting sained soon. as you know. And..well, they asked what i might take as a boon from the Count if he felt so inclined. I was being practical"

"It's awful! Just the idea that you'd have to get married for advancement...." Sylvi humphs and folds her arms. "I'm glad I'm a commoner."

"She doesn't -have- to, but if she wants to.... "

"Must we drag out my private matters like beasts yanking laundry off a line?"

"She thinks she has to, Adam." Sylvi points out stubbornly.

"I guess it makes sense if you don't have other options but come on, Nadeen, you totally do...."

"I have no options here. Lingering here after endangers the stability of the Barony."

She frowns.

Adam scratches his head with his free hand.

"Maybe, but I don't know. Have you talked to the Chieftain about it?"

"What if... what if you were a knight?"

Sylvi blinks at Dagmar.

"I'm sorry?" Nadeen blinks

"You, think I should yield up my title?"

"Dag, she said she needs -more- power....."

"My father would think I'd gone mad, and he'd be right" Nadeen says "One does not help their family or their house by being less"

"If you were a knight, you could stay..." It tumbles out before she can temper it.

Sylvi looks back and forth between Nadeen and Dagmar.

"Oh. Yeah." Adam gets it.

"I..." Nadeen moves to Dagmar and strokes her taller friend's cheek, "You don't need me. you're so very amazing... and you have made a home here. I am very proud of you. I am so glad I let you go to grow. But I will..m iss you too"

She flushes purple and looks away.

Sylvi bites her lip, her brow furrowed.

She mutters, "This just isn't right."

Nadeen says "Come now. I shall not have all this fussing over what is rather tried and true political machinations. " Then perhaps in a very wrong but possibly funny moment, she mimes an sterotypical 'urban' accent and begins to clap "Do CLAP NOT CLAP DISRESPECTCLAP CLAP MY HERITAGECLAP CLAP CLAP"

Dag pulls her hand free to fold her arms. "Yeah. I know."

A pause. "Can I come? To your thing?"

Adam doesn't try to hold Dag.

"Oh, of course," She says "I.. was hoping you would"

Sylvi blinks at that....and is startled into a snort which turns into a giggle.

Then she says with a sigh, "I'd like to come, too."

A blush "You're all invited, of course. I thought it was implied. "

"Yes, Adam, even you if you want. " She adds

She is somewhat glad that at least one person giggled at her joke

Adam seems shocked by the invite but he nods. "Yeah, cool, I'd like to come. Haven't been to Caer Falken yet."

"On your best behavior, Adam, like at Pennons"

"Well, -yeah-." ((with overtones of 'Duh.'))

Sylvi frowns again at something, and looks at Adam.

"I... ok. I'll be there." She's still looking like a stormcloud.

"Thank you both"

She's chewing on her thumb again.

Adam notices with some concern.

"Ahh...." Sylvi drags her gaze away from Adam. "Um...Nadeen...look, I'm sorry, it still bothers me, and I hope you'll find some other way of doing it. But I'm glad I'll be there to see."

Nadeen notices Dagarm's thumbchewing, and a flash of guilt crosses across her reserved features, then she turns to Sylvi "it's all right, Sylvi. I guess one has to be a sidhe to really understand somethings"
