"Vali's not got that much money after the other stuff" he says

"Well, you don't think I did it? I mean.. my channel is well, but not that lump sum well. Anne Marie? No.. no she'd not do that. It would go to those in greater need."

"maybe it should still.?" HE frowns

"Hey no.. this is our money now," Tove says, a flash of winter in her expression. Why shouldn't they have nice things?

"Just doesn't seem...right" A frown "It's like charity." pride hurt maybe

"Maybe, but we can't give it back, and we'll use it. Come on, Dagmar deserves a nice yule.,"

Jaymes grunts then, "yes. She's been...she's a good kid."

"The best." Tove says. Unseelie or Seelie that seems to stay a fact

She bites on her lower lip.

She shouldn't feel guilty! It's hers!

A whisper.. something about shoes.

And Dagmar must strain to eaves drop if she wishes to.

She does!

"Jordans? I know she wants them but that's crazy. Two hundred bucks for shoes?" Jaymes says.

"Look, out of the house I'm the most materialistic and I can tell you, while the details vary, lots of women like shoes. Hers are just bad ass athletic types. Me? strappies."

Tove goes to bat to buy those jordans for Yule.

Jaymes seems to find this impractical to the extreme.

Fidget-frown.

"Well, she is going through a lot" Jaymes says

Tove nods.

"mm" (Thinking about it) Jaymes mumbles.

Tove waits, but takes his hands and whispers "She'd love them."

Grunt mph (Cheating) accusation.

A smile and nod. She is happy to cheat.

She has nothing to feel guilty about!

"Okay..." he mutters agreement

But... dammit...

She escapes outside to shoot some driveway hoops.

the beat of the ball against the ground, the swish of the net. THAT makes sense.

She sees Gerd in the distance on patrol. But does she really want to talk to Gerd?

NOPE.

Dribble dribble shoot.

Yup. And Gerd be gone.

A huff and a puff and Symon races (well, shuffles) up the walk to where Dagmar is shooting hoops. Wheeze, wheeze. Catching breath.

Scuff-squeak, Dagmar is working hard and breathing heavy... though her workout is, perhaps, a bit more intense than Symon's

He curses his inability to yell over at her to get attention, and takes another wheezing breath, and hauls himself onto the driveway to wave an arm where he can't be missed.

She catches the ball. "Hey."

"What... the... fuck... Dagmar?" He wheezes, looking her over with wide eyes.

He holds up a finger, and takes a moment, gulping air until he can speak again.

She waits.

"They said there was a bomb threat at school, and you threw yourself on it so it wouldn't blow up the cafeteria." He deliberately looks her up and down. "But you don't LOOK like you are missing pieces out of you."

"Oh, nah. It was a gun."
