"Sure? I got money, maybe I get snacks if you get tickets?"

Adam shakes his head. "My treat."

"Yeah, but..."

"But what?"

"I don't want to be a..." A frown. "I mean.."

"Be a what?" He seems honestly unsure.

"A.. a mooch, I guess?"

He laughs, not unkindly. "Sam, it's a date! I'm supposed to pay!"

Blush. "Told you, I'm new at this. But, I mean, I still could."

"I know." sincerely "But I want to. At least this time. Uh. This, uh... your first time? First date?"

Her hand starts to drift, but she resists the urge to bite nails. "Um. Yeah."

"First date."

A BIG GRIN. "Ok."

"That's okay?"

"Hell yeah. It's.... kinda cool."

"Yeah?" A smile. "Bet you've been on lots of dates."

"Some." Not bragging.

"You're my first -blue- date, though." With a mischievous grin.

"Ha! I bet!"

They get to the movie theater, Adam gets tickets, and they go in. "So, what do you like? Soda, popcorn, nachos, hot dogs, candy.....?"

"Popcorn. It's the ruuuules."

"If that's all you want, that's cool but if you want something else... like a combo pack of something, or we could split stuff, or... hey, whatever you want. First date should be... you know. A splurge."

"Dunno. Did you have dinner? We could get hot dogs..." A blush. "That's a splurge. They're too expensive for just being, you know, hot dogs."

"You got it. You like everything?"

"No onions!" Important rule!

"Cool." He approves, and they are in line to order. "How you feel about sauerkraut?"

"Oh, it's good. I didn't usedta like it, but Tove convinced me."

He grins. "You want that on your dog?" he starts the order "Yeah, the big combo with... what kind of soda do you want?"

"Dr. Pepper, please?"

"With Dr. Pepper, and two hot dogs with...." He looks at Sam.

"Everything but onions."

Adam nods. "Two with everything but onions." And he pays; that's a bucket of popcorn, a bucket of soda, a box of candy, and two messy, messy dogs.

He -does- ask Sam to help him carry.

She does!

She also, apparently, has an encyclopedic knowledge of the F&F movies, in case Adam needs a background

They get seats, plenty of time for background and trailers... and the lights dim, dogs consumed, popcorn, candy, and drink between them......credits roll....

Commentary on trailers - what looks fun, what looks boring...

"Ok, we'll go to that one next." Adam says after a comment about one she likes.

"Awesome." Agreeably.

Partway through the film there might be some popcorn-hand collisions.

Awkward, but in smiley-blushy way.

Adam seems pleased at even the accidental touch, and gives her the right-of-way each time. And when they reach for the soda together. And for the candy.

A few giggles, even!

Adam seems to like the sound of that, even if it's hard to hear over the explosions and revving engines, and grins each time she does it.

And then.... the final explosions, the credits roll, the lights start to come up. "That was pretty cool. Thanks, Sam!" Adam is grinning, lighthearted. "How'd he stab that guy with a -brick-?? Oo, think you could do that!??!"

"Oh, bet it'd be worth a try..."

"Good trick to have, anyway." He takes a few skipping steps and bounces up to tap the heading-rafter as they leave the theater. "What do you wanna do now?"

"Well, Dad said ten...."

"So.. um..." Blush-shrug. "What do you think?"

"Oh, yeah." He checks his phone. "Darn. Think about what?"
