"Hey, Adam," Sometimes in a world with fairy creatures, it's easy to forget his parents, when they're not in danger. Now his dad says high to him.

"Hey dad."

"how open are you this weekend?" That's a dangerous question.

"Uhhh.... well, work. And some homework 'cause of basketball."

"I was thinking we might try some fishing" He says "Been awhile since I did it. I thought you might want to come along"

"Oh, uh, gee...... Maybe another time?"

"Oh it wouldn't be intruding on your homework or basketball, or even work... best time would be crack of dawn I think"

"Yeah, uh, I kinda had plans though...."

"You had plans at Dawn?" A raised brow "What?"

"No, not at dawn, but, uh, at night. So dawn is, you know, way early."

An amused flicker on his lips, "By definition. Okay okay. I'll let you off the hook"

"Ok, thanks dad!" Adam rushes out before something else comes up.

Mr. Thomas wonders at what point did he become a fate worse than death for his son, and chuckles... as Adam runs out.

The teen mopes along the street.

Dirk is on patrol.

And when he sees Adam, Dirk looks him over, then "Things okay over here?"

A shrug. "Yeah. Far as I can tell."

A grunt and the cap eyes him as if trying to make up his mind about something.

Adam slouches carelessly.

"Zane says you're not the asshole I think you are." The cap says bluntly

A shrug.

"I'm on the list, dickless"

The mortal' s eyes flair but he just shrugs.

"huh so you're just scared of me... smart. Fine. Props on not spilling the beans." He spits on the ground, "No wonder Dagmar sticks up for you so much."

Adam's hands curl into fists.

"I give you props and you get all mad. And some folks think I'm stupid"

Adam's expression is hard, jaw set and locked.

Dirk shrugs and slowly walks by

Adam waits til he's past, then walks on. He -looks- like he wants to hit something.

"Redcaps are such assholes," A voice chimes. Nabuni tuts once Dirk is out of hearing range. She's not stupid either.

"Yeah." Tightly.

"Hey, you've got nothing to prove to him." The imp tries to pat his leg, and then falls through him "Darn it."

"Sorry." He sighs and finds a place to sit, even a wall or something. "I know I don't. I know he's just trying to push my buttons. But -damn- I want to punch his face in!"

"he wants to punch yours too. He's waiting for an excuse. You jump him, he gets one. THe best bullies know not to throw the first punch" Nabuni says "It's cool. You seem awfully down for a guy who has girls interested in him and is making varsity and so on. What's wrong?"

"Well, there's-that- asshole...."

"Just gotta suck it down for longer than he can dish it out....." muttered.

"Yeah he does put a bummer on everything. And yikes. Does your dad really like fishing at 'oh my god' in the morning?" Horrorfied. She's more of a night chimera

"Sometimes. Mostly when he feels the need to do a father-son moment." Without rancor.

"I suppose that's decent enough." She nods "Beats having a jerk for a dad. Better lame than mean or neglectful"

"He's a good dad."

"Yup. Oh. I checked on your mom. She's doing okay all right. I don't think there's anything left from that evil creature trying to gnaw her brain matter"

"Thanks."

"Can I possess her some time? Go for a night on the town?"

"Huh??? -No!-"

"Please?" A pout

"Nab, quit it!! No way, that's my -mom-!!"

"I wasn't gonna tramp it up... just..eat some great food, dance ,flirt a little... " A huff "For a guy interested in the Enchanted World you'd think you'd understand how a girl can get curious about the autumn one."

"No."

She crosses her tiny arms. "Fine."
