"Oh" She's not as impressed by that but she smiles anyway "Sounds like a job you'd love"

"I get a pay check, and it's not hard work."

"Sounds like a good way to get by. Saving up for college?"

"Guess? Mostly, just for, you know. Fun-money."

"How about you?"

"Oh No job here" she says

"No, I mean, what are you into?"

"Well, you know I love to write and read. I guess I'm old school. i like fantasy and sci fi a lot. My aunt had this collection of fantasy novels from the 70s and 80s and got me hooked. Then I moved onto more modern things"

Adam brightens. "I like fantasy, yeah!"

"Yeah? What's your favorite series?"

"Uh. Well, I like all of Pratchett's stuff. And Gaiman. And, uh, you know, the classics? Like Tolkien and Lewis an' those guys."

"Oh an anglophile" she smiles

"Well, I don't speak anything else fluently, so.... I guess, yeah."

"I meant writers from the UK...and no wonder, they've got some of the best. Gaiman and Pratchet. I love Pratchet's humor... but Gaiman's American gods is.. wouldn't it be neat to find out we had had the old gods wandering about ?"

"I guess." Not enthusiastic. "You know any good American fantasy writers?"

"Well, if you like Urban Fantasy ? Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden might interest you if you haven't tried already."

"I heard about it. I'll check it out."

"Let me know if you like it.. I think it really starts to pick up on the thired novel but they're all fun. "

The handsome boy nods. "I'll give it a chance." He promises.

"Thanks. Now if you want an 80s series that deliberately went after ALL the tropes? THe Belgariad by Eddings was one of my aunt's favorites. "

Adam frowns, thinking. "I think I read that one? I mean one of them....?"

"Ha. Well, it's not everyone's favorite... " A nod "of course, there's A Song of Ice and Fire, but Martin puttered out there and..umph"

"Yeah, and then the show....."

"WHich had ssome great seasons"

"You watched it?"

"Got seasons 1-6 on DVD. My folks were 'like.. 'how about some Narnia?"

Adam flashes a quick grin again. "Right? But they let you watch it and stuff?"

"Yeah well. I might have been a complete BRAT about it..." She says with a blush "I pointed out I had already READ all the stuff they were worried about"

Adam laughs. "'Cause reading is good, right? We should read?"

"We should" A smile "But I am allowed to enjoy TV shows and movies too"

"Yeah?" Interested.

"Sure. " she says "who doesn't like going to the movies?"

"Exactly!"

"Uh, what kind of movies do you like?"

"Oh fantasy and Sci Fi chiefly but hey... I'm game for a lot of them. Comedies, Action, even romance"

Another easy grin, this one confident. "Yeah? Anything out right now you want to see?"

"Not sure. I could be swayed"

A blush as she admits it

"No? Oh." A shrug. "That's cool."

"so..any out YOu want to see?" She says biting her lip as if confused by something

"I was gonna see Spiderman with a friend but.... haven't seen her in a while. So."

"Yeah? Sucks to go alone" She agrees

"Yeah."

"But, ya know, there are other movies out. If you don't like Spiderman."

"I like Spider-Man fine" She says

Hint.hint. cough.

"Well.... you wanna go? Together?"

"Love to, when?" She perks.

"Mmm.. well, what's good for you? I can drive, my treat."
