He sees Dirk walk the halls between one of them. Dirk sneers but otherwise says nothing.

Adam gives him a nod in passing.

A chin jut greeting. And they pass on in a kind of truce.

When Lunch arrives, the cafeteria is buzzing. The News of the weekend has now become full blown gossip chain with lots of conspiracies

Adam gets a lunch and finds a table to himself.

More like a half table really, kind of crowded. Did EVERYONE come into school today?

But he finds a spot, plops down...

and sees Siv enter in talking to a girl in a redblouse

Adam -does- take the time to see what Lana looks like....

Huh... definitely a bookworm kind of girl, glasses, brunette hair in that loose bun, but the blouse is flattering and bold to make her stand out. the Leggings are a black with thin red patterns.

Adam smiles despite himself. It's a nice look, he likes it.

On a scale of 1-10, most guys would rate her a 6 or 7. Points taken or given depending on how you feel about her hips. She's not 'Thicc' but they're a bit on the wide set side

but only a bit.

They're clearly looking for a place to sit.

Adam hesitates... then waves.

"Hey, Adam, can we join you?" Siv says "Oh, this is Lana. Lana, this is Adam. He's pretty cool"

"Hi, Adam. Nice to meet you" Lana says

"Hey, Siv. Lana. Sure, have a seat."

They sit down, "Thank goodness no Fishticks today" Siv says with relief.

"Lasagna cube for the win?" Lana smirks, and looks down at the ah.. pasta thing on their plates.

Adam, a hungry boy, looks up with his mouth full; it seems he's less discriminating.

Lana actually seems to find that funny and smiles

Siv begins her own meal.

Adam swallows that mouthful, and coughs. "So. Ah. Yeah. Siv? So ... what's up?"

"Oh... Same crazy stuff everyone's heard of," Siv says "on the news you know? Me personally? Doing okay. Got to travel a bit...been getting an interest in dance"

"You're not leaving gymanstics though ? You're good at it," Lana asks Siv

Adam listens.

"Thanks. I'm still interested...yes" Siv says "How's the battle to make National Novel Writing month count as extra credit?"

"I've got two teachers on board," Lana says, then looks over at Adam "It's this thing where you write from Nov 1 to the end of the month trying to get 50,000 words done into a story. Doesn't even have to be good."

"I think I heard something about that thing, yeah. Not about here, through. You leading a cause?"

"I'm trying to get extra credit applied to those who do it... you know? " Lana says "Folks want us to learn, to engage, well? Darn it, why not then? Shouldn't the creative spark be encouraged?"

Adam gives her a half-grin. "Yeah."

She seems pleased her agrees, "You know how many of us write fan fiction anyway? I get it, the school might want it rated PG 13, but hey, art is art, and most teachers only wish they could get their students that enthused. "

Adam nods. "I like sports better than classes but yeah, teacher are always complaining about us not being 'engaged.'" He rolls his eyes.

"See, now if you got extra credit for writing like, a story about an athlete, a real one or fictional, wouldn't hyou be more interested in that than some genre that bores you?"

Siv says "Hey, pardon me you guys. I need to go ask Tanya about something. See you both later?"

Adam glances at Siv. "Guess so." He looks back at Lana. "Yeah, sure. If I had to write. I like telling stories better but...." He shrugs.

"But not your thing?" Lana says waving off Siv as she's left alone with Adam

A shrug. "I mean.... I get ok grades. And I like sports and, you know, hanging out with fr.... " Another shrug.

"with friends?" She guesses the rest

"Yeah. I guess I like telling stories better than writing them down."

"Oral tradition has it's place " she says

Adam blinks. "Uh. Yeah."

"So basketball huh? What position? "

"Small forward. That's where I get to the basket, try and make the shot, pass if I can't. I made Varsity." No big.

"Nice. I'm not as big on sports but I've seen a few games. Maybe I'll come to one of your games," A blush and she nibbles her lasagna cube

Adam nods. "That would be cool." His food is gone, dude.

She dimples a touch, and says "So how do you like the school so far? you know, as schools go?"

"S'ok. Just moved here over the summer. Got a job though!"

"Yeah? Where at?"
